killer 15 combo and plenty loud, and looks so cool, the level control works like a great gain knob on it's own...a B15 and SVT in a portable and light combo. win-win-win.

Funny you say that. After 30 years of playing bass through amps and cabs I realized I need an rb-115 combo...
@rlager22 Жыл бұрын
@One979 I stopped gigging except for occasional fun stuff so I got rid of my heavy gk setup. This thing can fill a smaller room or be a monitor and pre amp with the occasional big gig with house systems so it's awesome in my book to just have around. I like it much better than the rumble 150 I had

I started out with a bass Katana 210. Didn't shine to that the way that I'd hoped. Being old school I simply didn't like the complexity or sound of the bundled FX & gain structure with my bass. Swapped it out for this. Cheers Billy Hyde music for tolerating my madness. Better, but still no cigar. So I got angry. When angry I get creative. Added 3 Neodmyum backing magnet slugs to the Eminence 15. Re- stuffed the cab @ 20% more polyester fill. Tuned & extended the ports to make em infinitely tunable. With..... bundled paper drinking straws. Laugh all you like. It WORKS. Celef that morphed into Pro Ac used this trick on their high end studio monitors for the same reason. Slows the speed of the sound exiting the ports & because I left the straw bundles movable in the ports I could tune said ports individually & virtually infinitely for lower broader and even higher extension. Result? Greater resposiveness & fret feel with better note articulation across the board. Lower registers had more volume before cone break up even when running fx pedals like fuzz, distortion & boost. Happy little rock piggy now 🤩 ! Lastly IMHO this IS a Bass combo for rock pigs who love agressive grit in their tone. That's what it does best. You want pristine clean bass tone articulation. I use an old school Elka RM 100 class A/B amp & D130 clone combo for that. The Rocket 115 is not the right tool for that @ least with the Greco Rock Spirit stock pick ups on my bass. Your Milage May Vary according to pick up design output and layout on your bass.

So to get the full 200 watts you need to plug in another speaker?
@BassMusicianMagazine3 жыл бұрын
No, it is made so you can add another speaker. For more details feel free to contact Ampeg directly . Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.

YES. it says so in the manual 100w 8hms (internal only) 200 wat 4hms with an additional 8ohm cab
@Joshybass252 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s 100 watts RMS @ 8 ohms. 200 watts would be at 4 ohms with external speaker.
@TheBassfresh2 жыл бұрын
correct, and ampeg has yet to make a matching ext cab.

@@eda.4145 so this amp is really only 100 watts stock by itself, but if you buy a speaker cabinet and connect it to the amp then it becomes 200 watts?

can you play small bars with 200 watts

What is wrong with demo-ing with the tone controls flat? Is the flat sound too weak? MM

Can you still get bedroom volume out of the 115 or will be it too much? I ask bc I want something that gives bedroom volume but can also keep up with a loud, fast, punk band.
@BassMusicianMagazine2 жыл бұрын
Not sure how low (or high) "Bedroom" volume is but I have heard that this amp holds it's own in medium size venues. As always, you should test one for yourself to be sure, Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.

Two different animals. Without a dB level for what Bedroom level is ( for you) Nobody can answer your question. The best " bedroom volume" amps are old school class A/B 30-40 watt 10 inch or bigger speaker practice amp combos. Don't bother with 8 inch. At budget prices they SUCK @$$ for Bass. In a live or practice gig situation with a real drummer you WILL fry it in no time and barely be heard if at all with a low watt combo. The other Alternative is a headphone out on a bigger amp combo. Some can handle that. I personally HATE it! Try & see. Otherwise buy an old school low watt combo as a separate practice rig. They are cheap as chips and often better than people think. Also believe it or not super cheap modern stuff like the Joyo badass head with say an old generic 10 in bass speaker/s in a DIY cab can sound surprisingly good. No, Not kidding! I was surprised. In fact @ 4 Ohms that badass Joyo pumps out 50 watts rms. Combine it with some super efficient 8 Ohm bass speakers wired in parallel + to + for 4 Ohm you might just be able to gig with it. But I certainly wouldnt. But it is possible. Plenty of ways to go. Try things out & find out what works best for YOU I run a Rocket 115 modded with an eden 210 ext cab. Never had a situation where I was wanting more volume than this combo pumps out. But just cause I like it doesn't mean YOU will.

The volume knob is useful in your scenario, right?
@rodolfoboimarinho6504 Жыл бұрын
US should regulate it´s advertising. 100 watts rms should be labeled as so.

@@BassMusicianMagazine Hi, I think you misunderstood my comment. I mean, what's the point of the review if you're not actually listening to the speaker cabinet? You said you used the DI into the camera, so we're hearing the direct signal from the pre-amp and NOT the combo's speaker. So in effect, the viewer still has not heard the combo amp standing alone, as an amp and speaker, as it most likely would be used in a band/rehearsal setting. (the DI does sound great though!)
@BassMusicianMagazine Жыл бұрын
@@shawnalove5050 OK, I get it now. Demonstrating the DI signal gives the best idea what it will sound like. In a lot of cases, it is the signal that will go to front of house. External factors like the mic I use and the room configuration affect how the sound comes across. That is why I always tell people to try any amp for themselves to see if they like the sound quality and characteristics.
@ryanchrisxp11 ай бұрын
audio is horrible- can hardly hear the amp during demo. next time please try a mic
@BassMusicianMagazine11 ай бұрын
It sounds OK on our end. Have you tried headphones? That said, the sound sample is accurate without the extraneous sounds that the Mic picks up. We recently did a review on the New Ampeg Venture series and used a mic for that one. You can compare them if you like. Thanks for watching and for your input!
