Great video, thanks. This is my camping coffee pot as well. Every time I get it perking I end up sharing with tent neighbors. I also take a Stanley thermos to pour it into when it is finished. It stays hot for hours!

Got a 413g today for $15.00 fired right up and who knows how old the fuel is. 9 minute boil with both burners full and my percolator pot same size as yours full on the main burner. I’ll take that!!!

You are right about that Billy. I have a 426D I just picked up a couple of months ago and have another video percing coffee on it. I am brewing up some Ranch Hand Blend Coffee I got in Amarillo, here is the link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7Ue2SNbNZ2ra8. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

Great video and equipment review. I love the 413G. My kids gave me one of those Coleman Dripolators. It is slower and doesn't make as good of coffee as a percolator. The size of a coffee cup is a metric based measurement 150ml (1.5dl), which is 5.07 oz. You're right I do need a John Wayne mug

Thanks for watching Lew. I picked up a cherry 426D the other day. Just filmed cooking breakfast on it. The first part will be posted Tuesday pan fried potatoes.

You have to be careful that Coleman collecting can become a curse, lol. It amazes me how cheep you can pick them up at garage sales and flea markets. I am pretty good at working on them now so have most of my collection running. Thanks for watching the Hot Seat it was allot of fun.

If I may please, the way we use to stop the grounds from getting into your water is putting a finger over the spout top. Another way is to fill the basket outside the pot first, still putting you finger over the spout . Thank you for the ten minute advice to perk. My camping pot does not have the glass top. I'll try it on my gas stove first.
@TexasStyleCuisine5 жыл бұрын
Both those ways will work. But those had came out while perking. That pot seeems to do it a little worse then my old one that was my dads. Thanks for watching and for taking tome to comment. I do appreciate it

Texas Style BBQ and Cuisine, have you ever tried the filters for percolators? Kroger here used to carry them, but they may be in your stores. The brand is Melitta coffee disks.
@TexasStyleCuisine5 жыл бұрын
Virginia Reid I have not used the disk but I do cut a circle out of the cone shape filters to help. I need to look for the actual ones made for it I just never have. I had a box of cone shaped filters and I don’t have that coffee maker any more so I have just been using up them. Thanks for sharing the brand name.
@virginiareid53365 жыл бұрын
Texas Style BBQ and Cuisine. Regular or cone filters work weel too. I’ve even cut the bottom out of the regular 4 cup size and used them in a pinch. Best wishes in the New Year

How much ground coffee do you use per cup of water?
@TexasStyleCuisine6 жыл бұрын
John Galt measuring coffee is a tricky thing. When they talk cups in a coffee cup it is not 8 oz cups. It’s really 5 or 6 ounces. So I thin 1tbs per 8oz of water. Even 3/4tbs is good for me. I don’t like mine real strong. Thanks for watching

It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. I take out the whole percolator assembly, grind the coffee coarse, throw it in the boiling water, boil it for a short time, let it steep for a few minutes then sprinkle cold water on the coffee surface to settle the grounds then enjoy. My method seems to produce less of an acid taste; A few grounds don't bother me a bit, but truly if the coffee is made and then sprinkled with cold water, there are very few grounds floating around.
@TexasStyleCuisine8 жыл бұрын
You are correct about the boiled coffee having less acid. Boiling does remove some of the acid. If you pour in a little cold water the grounds will settle. I collect old enamel boilers so I have boiled many a pot of coffee and it is excellent made that way. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
