Wish they would work on the habitat in those woods. Could sure stand to be thinned out allowing some sunlight to the ground. Back when that buck was shot was a heavy logging period in the north east guarantee those woods were not thick like that with nothing but pine needles under foot. Open that canopy and get some monster deer growing up there again.

Anybody know if they made dvds for this show? I used to watch it when I was a teenager learning how to hunt and loved it! My absolute favorite!

This is awesome. Is it available to everyone or just people with deep pockets? If that's the case it just another high fence ranch and any deer shot there shouldn't be on the same books

Open to anyone, and in 1910 there were no hunting ranches it was all open and natural. Deer don't get that big anymore because people are too apt to shoot a doe or spike horn just to say they got a deer .

There could be deer like this still out there, just with over 100 years of evolution deer have become more keen to hunters, tree stands and so on. Not to mention alot less woods and forest due to development and such. Maine has some monsters for sure but often gets overlooked, too often people think of Kentucky, Nebraska, Wisconsin and so on, but every year in Maine many a deer are shot at 200+ pounds and even 300 pounds. Weak whitetails can't make it through a Maine winter.
