In case you were wondering what I look like when I get SUPER excited about a song, this is it! A true first-time reaction, filmed the night before the release last Friday, and I couldn't have been happier about it. Huge shoutout to The Bass Gang, and Marwan on his incredible arranging, producing, and editing! Please go watch/like the original video and subscribe to The Bass Gang's official KZbin channel! Cheers to the end of a fantastic spooky season 👻

and I'm waiting for the Badd Gang to get it's own patreon as throwing money at all four of you at once is just tidier, I am a fan of all of your solo stuff too but I also dislike automatic withdrawals and want to keep them to a minimum. So yes I promise to jump on that as soon as I actually see it, whenever that will happen.

Just look at The Wellermen's misty mountains, or heck, even the cid he's reacting to in the first place! Just awesome to see and hear him. Love ya man, love your voice even more! Dude, listening to the cover is one amazing thing, but learning about all of the vocal and choreographed elements make it infinitely cooler. This reaction/behind the scenes (?) gave me a ton more respect for what y'all do on top of the ton I already have. Great work on this cover! I can't wait to see what's next, from y'all! P.S. Also an F#5 mix or in any register outside of falsetto is only something a budding tenor with no training whatsoever could only dream of lol.

So as a bari-tenor that is a student of several different techniques, including harsh vocal techniques like false chord screaming and such, how would you suggest approaching trying to learn subharmonics/chest fry/growling? Would there be any teachers you’d recommend? I’m mainly looking to try and add low vocals to harsh music and see how that goes. Also I’m a huge fan of your videos, they give such great insight and I appreciate the pausing to take deep dives into different aspects of each song!
@isaiahgilliam13 жыл бұрын
I know I’m not Peter but I think I can help here, David Larson and bass2yang are probably the best teachers not KZbin for subharmonics, I’m pretty sure bass2yang also has chestfry tutorials as well and I know David has a few growl videos
@pinesyeet3 жыл бұрын
Isaiah is right, when you get the basics down, it's all about practice practice practice. As a baritone myself, I've hit subs down in the 0th octave. Can consistantly enough sub down to an F1, and that's all from practice after learning from David Larson and Geoff Castellucci's videos. Gl!

Can confirm the above -- those two are the best teachers of subharmonics for sure. I'm by no means an expert at any extended techniques aside from chest-fry, as most of them are not useful in the opera world. But I have been working on subs more and more lately, and I originally learned how to do them from watching David Larson's tutorials

Watching your first reaction was priceless! Love the pit vipers low notes! Love your break down explaining which notes are subs, fry, or chest. I learn so much from your explanations. Absolutely take your time to explain songs. No need to rush. Unique that all 4 bass voices have different tones, timbre (?), range, and abilities. Perfect combination/blend of bass voices in this group. What a fabulous niche your acapella group has created. BASS GANG ROCKS! Sincerely appreciate the behind the scenes explanations of how incredibly hard it was to create this video when you were all in different places, creating this virtually. Hats off to you guys! 👏

Okay... so, I've now watched this song like 30+ times in the last two days, and I still can't... I just can't. Y'all are some sickos, in the best possible way. I really hope we get to see another 50 albums from you guys. You'll get the distinction of being the first album I've bought in the last 5 years. EDIT: Wait, wait, wait. Marwan is 17?! Are you friggin kidding me? Dude, I was a very low bass in high school (compared to anyone else in my area anyway) and I think the lowest I hit before I was 25 was a B1. He's got that talent AND he's this good of an editor? Boyo's going far.

OK, I’m watching again because I wanted to fact check myself: You’re telling me a 17 year old did this arrangement? 🤯 Count me amazed-and Bobby is so young, too-great vocal coloring, especially if he’s not seriously pursuing singing as a career and putting in the kind of time that requires. I also think you should be really, really proud of that extended solo. Beautiful! Now that I’ve also gone to all your individual channels and looked at more solo (Tomi’s Hellfire-😱) and ensemble work, I really, really can’t wait to see what you come up with next! Great job!

Two things. First, it is so entertaining watching you react to the Bass Gang videos, so I hope you keep doing that. It is just so genuinely fun to see how mutually supportive and collaborative y’all are. Second, I was listening to your discussion with the group on your Vocal Arts podcast and I was thinking a good strategy for getting an in on the Charismatic Voice would be to cover an artist that is a channel favorite. Aurora is one Elisabeth comes back to repeatedly (and is actually how I got connected to her channel). That might be a cool angle to consider.

Fascinating tutorial/reaction. I have followed Tim Foust and Home Free for years and Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay for almost as long, but I just recently found you (and being very impressed, instantly subscribed). After hearing the original of this a half an hour or so ago, I instantly subscribed to Tomi, Marwan, and Bobby as well, a long with The Bass Gang Channel. Well done, all! I thoroughly enjoyed this. I am unable currently to support any one on Patreon (although I have in the past), as I recently had to take an early retirement due to health issues, which means my income dropped to 25% of what it used to be. Sorry to all. I will come back and support as soon as I am able. Thank you for such entertaining and educational videos. Keep them coming! Sincerely, Amy G.
