Not only is this incredibly difficult on the violin, it’s almost IMPOSSIBLE on the bass, adding in all the incredibly difficult 10ths and INSANE shifts. I could care less that the tone on some notes are weird, this is simply mind blowing.

Thanks a lot! I've been doing college visits recently and the whole "low job-placement rate" thing keeps going through my head when I'm visiting these great schools. Advice like yours is encouraging--my goal's to make a profession out of my music and all the professional bassists I've met so far have all told me that's it's determination and ingenuity that will get me there. Best of luck to you!

thanks for watching the clip! My basic advice is, set the goal, and act on it; I've known Tom Martin for a long time and have a lot of admiration and respect for him, so all I can say, is that it was a marvelous experience playing with him. Good luck to you!

Having heard and seen your prior version of this piece, I did not think there was one millimeter available for improvement. I was wrong! BTW, love the new bass. And if Paganini were alive today (being a fiddler) he would certainly have written some personal piece just for you. Thank you dear maestro, as always, for bringing so much enjoyment to my life.
