I LOVE the beefy fat rubber surround on that subwoofer driver. Chances are it also has a vented basket and vented coil because a lot of smaller drivers use vented baskets and coils to improve power handling and efficiency. I have an older Sony iPod dock and the drivers have vented baskets and coils

It might have the bumps to help the passive woofers not wobble the. For example the h&k onyx studio 1-4s( not as drastic in the 4 version ) passive woofers wobble at certain frequencies and you can hear it clearly when they do.

I think those little bubbles on the passive radiators surrounds add a progressive value to its excursion so softer listening will still flex those radiators adequately.

Great video as always. For some reason seeing you get a text and lighting up was kinda nice. It kind of give a reminder that you're a person just like the rest of us. People, myself included, tend to forget that. At this years heatwave show in Austin, Tx I saw Johnathan price and it was kinda weird. Don't get me wrong, he was very nice when I spoke to him for a second but it was like man....that guy I see on the computer in these videos...is a real person. Of course I know that people I see in videos are real people but there is just something sureal seeing someone in person that you've only seen in videos. I use an anker SoundCore boost I think it is with I believe 2x 10w drivers and 2x passive subwoofers and I really like it, never done 'scientific tests' a bit like you but the only problem is the grill on the front rattles on the front middle sub but I just put two zip ties around it and a little piece of wood wedged between it to put some force against it and completely stops all of it. I would take the grill off and try and fix it but its really waterproof so I don't want to ruin the seal. Around $65 I think.

Based on this and other reviews, (Oluv mainly) I just got my Doss Soundbox XL today and it sounds amazing! I can't stop smiling! 😊 First, the 'bad' news, it's made of plastic but doesn't look plastic... matte finish. The volume control doesn't sync, it is not rugged or waterproof, more of a home portable and it doesn't take calls but it does go silent when you get a call or when you have any other audio coming from your phone, like KZbin or any other site and of course, don't drop it on the ground! The rest is ALL beyond good! The grille is metal and the button console is brushed steel with black round glossy buttons that click easy. Even better than I expected! No hum or rattle! This speaker handles ALL recordings really well! I dunno how! My stereo, which is really excellent, can't do that! Even the highs are good. The bass is great!! And wired to my old iPod Classic, it really sounds deadly! And MUCH louder too! Maybe 50% volume roughly, on the speaker, is enough. On my phone, I keep the volume loud and control it on the speaker. I can use phone volume buttons too. I have my entire cd collection on that iPod (mp3) so it's great, plus I'm yet to buy and try a micro SD card. That may be softer than the iPod as then there would be no preamp so to speak but the speaker is more than loud enough, so... JUST BUY IT!

303 Nitzubishi they do have the closed cell rubber coated foam weatherstripping at some auto parts stores, and i've seen it at a few home stores/hardware stores, that might work and isolate it a little better as well as giving it more surface to grip and prevent sliding with, not a bad idea
