Bishop Jacobs, it’s not always the sons being rebellious, we must deal with fathers who abuse and mishandle sons. It’s only fair.

This is accurate. We cannot assume that every pastor handles all the sheep the way the Good Sheperd would. All flesh is grass. Some sheep have been driven away then labeled 'bad.'

I agree some sons don't want to take what Our fathers have now; we just want to help them, admire them, and would be honored to carry their legacy. All of the examples they mentioned Paul, David, Joshua/Caleb, Joseph and Jesus with the disciples. Their biological fathers didn't have a great legacy to give them. The Kings of the bible understood preparing sons and succession. When David became a king, he understood and prepared Solomon. God had actually tell him that his son was next. That seems to be a big subject in the African American church. Other reformations say to their sons, it's time for you and I'm going to help you. Whether it's here or another place.

This was really good and needed!! When Mark Moore said “every death isn’t physical” or something of the sort that hit me. Because I think you can be a son to whomever God has called you to, to lay a good foundation and down the line two things can push you out. 1. God leads you away and 2. Something happens within the parental that you can’t be a recipient of anymore. Not to take away of what has been laid but also can’t be built upon.

I agree. And our spiritual fathers have spiritual godfathers they trust to be a voice in their spiritual sons life. Connections come with your father. Connections come with your spiritual father as well. Meaning, if you're spiritual father dies, you have your spiritual godfather. If you're spiritual godfather dies then you still have other fathers(voices) of connections you've made and discerned(spiritually) that this is a trusted voice in my life that you submit to.....

I think church members need to create a show and talk about what they don't like about the fathers, if the fathers can create a show and talk about what they dont like about the sons, trust and believe it's a lot that the sons don't like about the fathers! Some fathers abuse their power in the church....let's talk about that!!

It seems like pentecostals are trying to create a spiritual office that is not mentioned in the Bible. That's why there's so much confusion around this topic...so much that these four men of God couldn't agree at times. Let's stick with scripture. The Pauline offices are Pastor/Bishop (the two being synonymous in Baptist doctrine) and Deacon. Spirit gifts to the church are Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, teacher. The spiritual father is something never spoken in scripture and is a modern creation that has subjected many to confusion, abuse, and manipulation.

Fathers have a responsibility to sons until they reach a place of maturity(in the natural it would be an age) As a parent I correct but even when my correction may not be received well,understood,etc it doesn’t release me from the role of parenting! I’m responsible for you even in your immaturity and rebellion! If the son can’t dismiss the father, the father equally can not dismiss himself from the responsibility of the son EVEN in challenging moments.

What about the “bastard” sons, who’s father’s wouldn’t take the time to nurture and cultivate their gifts. How does that son move forward without a covering or how should that son seek the proper covering? And going further, what happens if in the same scenario, the spiritual father passes away before any reconciliation can be had leaving the spiritual son “bastard” without a covering.
@KairosKrystle17 ай бұрын

Sometimes you have to leave and allow the lord to put another spiritual father in your path!! Why? Because sometimes it’s not the son that is the bastard, and it’s not always the son that is the issue, it’s not always the son. Sometimes it’s the father that has allowed the evil spirit that entered Saul and jealousy, envy and hatred seeps in. So the change is some time’s necessary!!

@lanebingo Well you might as well just lean into your own understanding because everyone has something you won’t agree with on every aspect of things. You cannot just erase your first spiritual father from everything. How did they get that leadership position in your life in the first place if they was so toxic? Overtime things can occur is better well said. He is speaking from a respectful leadership point of views. You are the ones that is dangerous and need some re evaluation if you giving people leadership over your life without a full assessment first
