I think that’s what makes it so funny, the fact that he can’t succeed at anything, even killing himself! But this has nothing on that Harold Loyd short where he sticks his mouth on a gas pipe and turns it on at the end! That was not funny.

Mostly hilarious, though the end wasn't good. So glad to see it though! I need to see much more....

The ending was supposed to be good. In the original version of the script, he helped catch criminals (without knowing it himself), and when he came home with nothing, at the last moment, a detective would show up with a reward. After that, he and the girl would drive off in a car to a bright future... However, a lot of things changed and happened during the filming, and apparently Keaton was in a dark enough mood to end the picture this gloomy way. Glad you enjoyed it anyway!
