Batgirl is an unreleased American superhero film based on the DC character Barbara Gordon / Batgirl. Produced by Burr! Productions and DC Films for the streaming service HBO Max, it was intended to be an installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and starred Leslie Grace as Batgirl, alongside J. K. Simmons, Jacob Scipio, Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton, and Ivory Aquino.
Development of a Batgirl feature film began with Joss Whedon in March 2017, but he left the project a year later. Hodson was hired to write a new script in April 2018, with El Arbi and Fallah hired to direct in May 2021 when the film was confirmed as an HBO Max original. Grace was cast that July, followed by additional castings-including Keaton reprising his role of Bruce Wayne / Batman from Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992)-and filming took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from November 2021 to March 2022. In August 2022, DC Films and HBO Max parent Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) announced that, while the film had entered post-production, the studio no longer planned to release it in 2022 as scheduled due to the company's cost-cutting measures and a refocus on theatrical releases.

@@Ron_DeForest It was finished and about to air on MAX and James Gunn being the asshole he is canceled it and left us fans in the dark about why. I think it would be good with Ortega although We needed to see the Batgirl that also stared Michael Keaton with no doubt in my mind would have been AWESOME. Gunn needs to keep his fucking nose out of what is already in progress and go ahead with what ever plans he has, what does that prove, it proves that when put in charge of something that people love and he does what he wants to, not thinking about the fans out there that are so patiently waiting to see the next installment in the DC universe, this is a good example of him having to much power over a conpany like Warner Bros. There should be someone over him to observe him and if he steps out of line , they would put him in his place and If he had plans to make a Batgirl movie then he should have left the pther one alone and gone ahead with the one he wanted to make. How many time has Batman came to the Big Screen, that is something I dont think i need to say because that is an easy answer to figure out, because it is alot. Unless Micheal Keaton goes with another Production company we will never see him don the Cape and Cowl agian. This is something that I and many other fans of the 89 Batman and 92 Batman Returns have been wanting to see for the last 32 years is MIchael Keaton as Batman and he fired him too. What is sad about this whole is that I will more than likely go see the new movies and I will more than like;ly like them. Although it come down to the old saying "If it is not broken, don't fix it." Well I have ranted long enough and I am behind getting my yard work done.

Batgirl is not Lesbian, it was Bat -Woman, a totaly different character. She made her apperance in Batman comics in 1956 in issue # 233. I'm not just telling this, I have had many friends who have thought the same thing and I have also inform them of this.
