I feel you on the organizational difficulty. My desire is to arrange by season, and then alphabetically. But then, my impulse to keep the design collections together takes over and everything gets messed up. I crate my off season candles, then move some of the current season to my two candle cabinets for easy access. But THEN, I buy more! I don't collect per se, my intention is to burn them all. At this rate, my candle accumulation will outlive me :)

I have over 300 3 wick candles. The majority live on a 4 shelf wooden bookcase. The overflow are in crates in a spare bedroom closet. I absolutely love looking through them when I pull out scents for the month. I usually try and sit in front of it each season change and select a rare gem to burn. I've been collecting for over 10 years and am starting to realise I own more than I can burn through. So now I am trying to burn more and just enjoy them in the moment.

Great video! My candle collection was out of control but it’s better now. I only buy multiples of what I love. I burn off season. My favorites are definitely fall and winter. I will burn pumpkin pecan waffles in the summer. To me it’s better than most of the summer stuff.

I absolutely love your collection. I think it is a totally manageable amount for a reviewer. I really appreciate how thoughtful you are about what you keep and what you sell or gift .I know without counting I have over a hundred candles and I have just moved and it was a challenge because as you said they are heavy. I do burn most of mine but do have a small amount of no burn candles ( only 2 actually) . I intend to keep collecting and the metal shelves are a great idea as well as the crates. I love seeing your collection and how you store your candles! My husband thinks I am crazy but I have mine grouped on shelves according to season and collection. I probably have 200-250. It’s nice to know there are others out there like me!

Thank you for saying your collection is relatively small! Mine's about the same size as yours. I have so much fun arranging them and smelling them as I do it. The candles actually weigh a little over 2 lb each, and yes, the crates are so nice!

I actually think your collection is pretty organized considering how many you have! I just reorganized by “Bath & Body Works Closet” aka my linen closet with no linens 😂 I gave a whole reusable tote away to my family and they were happy & I was happy! I only have 74 candles but I think 100 is my limit. I know some people in the facebook groups have like 1k 😱

I was laughing out loud because I thought the screen shot at the beginning was in a warehouse but that is your house! hahaha. I did some extreme collecting with perfume but finally stopped when it fully dawned on me how much waste I was creating. It was giving me anxiety and now I'm careful to never go overboard again. I do think I will always have that collecting bug though because I still have many scented things collections (although not huge). To me throwing something away because it's expired is abig red flag that my collection is too big and I need to quit on it for awhile. Everybody has their own limits and reasons for stopping and continuing. As long as it's healthy!

I never intentionally became a candle collector. I just started buying a tone of BBW candles during the pandemic last year. I plan to take inventory of what I have. That's the closest I'll get to organizing my collection.

I burn a candle everyday all day long 7am to 8pm bath and bath body works last me 3 days. Girl you got to get burning in every room lol. You can’t take them to your grave so burn and enjoy. I started using up all my favorite stuff lol.

One of my favorite Christmas movies, is also one of the most ridiculous!! We laugh so much! Snow Globe on Disney+ is about a girl who loves Christmas, but has the most annoying family, ever! She winds up in a mysterious snow globe, with a "perfect" family, and accidentally steals the snow globe girl's boyfriend!! It is dumb, but hilarious, and it's now in my holiday movie rotation!!😂😂

I place mine in crates. And mark them 1c, 2c then list candles on spreadsheet. That tells me 1c and 2c is in my closet. Then I have shelves like you have but I put a piece of wood under mine so the slide in and out easier. With crates marked 1s1, 1s2 1s3. But I know you move candles around daily.

I have about 70 candles that I store in my room. Candles make me happy and its a way to have fall (and Christmas) going year round. Im currently burning Pumpkin Clove.

I have broken 1 unburned candle and it was the Mother’s Day strawberry pound cake candle. Love your collection! I store my candles by season. There would be no way I could categorize them by year or scent family too! It’s enough to store them. I need a candle closet.

We have been watching The Simpson's Christmas shows. We just watched Scooged with Bill Murray. Remember that 80's goodie? Happy weekend before Christmas! 🎄 I keep my candles under my bed in long plastic bins. They slide out easily. Organized by season.

Maybe you can print or buy colored labels/stickers to put on the top so you know what year/season it is from. You can even probably create your own sections for colors. So then its easy to organize later on.

I started burning candles last fall as a way to find comfort during the pandemic, then I realized how much I loved shopping and collecting them. The twist? I live in a small, 120-year-old apartment. Not sure how many I have now but it's the limit. Only shopping SAS if I see candles for 75 percent off. My home looks clean to visitors but open any storage space and what do you find? Candles. Under the sink? Candles. Inside stacked boxes in a storage nook? Candles. In a plastic tub in my office? Candles. In my closet behind my sweater hamper? Candles -- specifically all my backups. Guessing at this point I have 150-200 and as much as I love them, there will be no more until I burn through a bunch! I own the candles, they don't own me!

I actually LOVE Strawberry Sparkler! It is great for in a bedroom or beauty room. I was expecting more strawberry and less rose water.... but for some reason the scent grew on me and now I love it before bedtime

I've been watching reviewers on here for a while and it seems they start to turn/get murky/lose scent after about 5-6 years. Yankees seem to last the longest.

The omish build shelves with wood 2 in thick and big bricks. They hold canning jars. They would definitely hold your candles. Wood cheaper from a saw mill or buy decking boards.

I'm thinking of getting a couple of storage racks for my candles and some other stuff. I currently have 217 BBW 3-wick candles, with 4 more on the way, 102 BBW single wick candles, and 13 Ulta 3-wick candles, all for burning. Then, there are also a bunch of small candles in decorative tins that I have no plan to burn. I love the Japonica collection tins from Voluspa, and I have them scattered around the house according to color scheme.

Hey Bonnie I just weighed a new BBW candle & it actually weighs 1 1/2 lbs!!!! (that is including the glass jar & lid) SO you are really carrying 27 lbs!!! (3 crates) The crates are light but they do weigh SOMETHING! So......even more than 27 lbs LOLOLOL!!! Yeah- people love to say "repurpose those jars"........but seriously how many diff uses are there??? Q tips, cotton balls, desk supplies, hair ties........ there simply aren't hundreds of categories. I hate when people judge someone who simply tosses things. To each his or her own. I'm not going to buy any more water globes or pedestals. I highly doubt I will buy any more candle holders at all! There is only so much space & so much usage you can get out of them! If you have a few for each season, IMO that is plenty & enough. They don't "go bad." LOL!!! TFS!!!! 😍

This was a great review 😊 I have found myself getting overwhelmed with how many candles I have bought I have given away bags to people... Gave them out at my daughter's wedding shower... I tried to keep what I can in crates, and keep Christmas and one section so on and so forth... I am now trying to burn through some of my candles or I just end up with way too many!! You had some great ideas with just trying to move on The problem is when I think they're beautiful I want to save them... Or if I love a particular candle I try to have one of each but I think I'm going to have to get over that!!uugh... But I sure love candles lol

Maybe if you haven't done this already, take a sharpie and write on the outside of the crate next to the space the candle is in.

If it was me, i would use more shelves, and stack them less densely so that most importantly there's not so much weight on any one shelf, and two it's easier to dig out one from the back of the shelf. And on top of the added shelving units, i would fill the room with super super plush rugs, just in case heaven forbid something happened you don't have thousands of dollars of shattered glass and wax covering your basement floor! This reminds me, when we lived with my in laws, i was connnnstantly having to replace my phone. We stayed in the basement, and that concrete floor is no joke. Haha now that we moved, we've been here a year & a half and my phone has not a single crack in it! 🙌🏻 i also had several candles - and a really nice candle holder - get dropped and shattered on that hard floor as well!
