Interesting! I always wondered how they hold up over time. I was a Bathfitter installer from 2003-2009 in Western Washington. Looks like the wall was installed well. The "tile" walls can be squishy if not enough double sided tape is being used. The curved shower rods were always difficult. I always added a small piece of plywood backing behind the acrylic wall for something solid to mount to. Also, at 5:17, I noticed the caulking is messed up or missing under the corner shelf. That should be touched up so you don't get mold behind the shelf.

Just and FYI mine has been DRAINED 3 times now, they want to upcharge me 500$ to do so again, i get water between my tub and the fitter. It's nothing but issues. They told me if I got the wall one it would have been "better". I asked them, "oh, how would it make it "better?"... crickets still. Never again... filled w/ water between and they have given me a 7 week date to come out. I told them,ifn this leaks down to my 1st floor, it will be a real expensive problem for you.... worst decision ever.

What do you mean "the wall one"@@ItsMarieD Did you only get the tub liner?
@ItsMarieD Жыл бұрын
@@tzgardner Yes, we did the tub only and retiled out walls. Nobody mentioned one being "better" for leakage than another. Don't see how it matters regardless. I believe they are just giving me a bologna excuse again.

From that type of installation, there are 3 spots where water can leak between the original tub and the liner. It's either the drain, overflow or around the edge of the tub. One or more of those spots didn't get sealed properly. If they are trying to charge you for going out to fix the issue, that is pretty messed up. The management team I worked for in Washington state would not have done that. If you local franchise will not honor a proper installation, you can take your complaint to the corporate level. It's in the best interest of all involved to get that resolved. @@ItsMarieD

@@tzgardner Thank you for your response. I told her that I would and she said, they'd just direct me back to her so... Yep, I'm serious. I will def do so however. I also spoke on Bathfitters YT video as well. It's not ok. Shabby work from the get go and now I am stuck. Again, if that damage does anything to my 1st floor because of this- it will be a problem too. I do tons of remodeling and never have I had shoddy exp w/ national co before. I trusted their brand, paid for their product , bought the product they recommended (not being told anything about the "wall" feature being "better", which by the way, I'm still waiting on that explanation as to HOW it is better, and it's only 5 yrs old and it started quickly. I appreciate your reply, thank you

My husband unscrewed the stopper and replaced it with a small removable mesh screen to catch hair. It looks like a mini sifter. You can probably get it at any hardware store.

Depending on what type of bath soap you use I just dry the tub out with a towel after I squeegee it each and every time I never actually do more than that and it's in perfectly new condition. If you use a bar soap that creates scum it is probably a different story

Thank you for the review! We recently had a new shower and tub installation by another vendor. We have a similar kind of drain/stopper as your new tub. We ordered a drain hair catcher from Amazon. It is large and raised, and fits over the drain/stopper. We only leave it there when we are taking a shower or about to drain the tub. Don’t know if it is still available, but the one we ordered was the “Lekeye Drain Hair Catcher/Bathtub Drain Cover/Drain Protector for Pop-Up & Regular Drains.” (Sorry for the long name but that is how it was listed on the Amazon page). Thanks again for the review! I hope our new shower and tub installation lasts as long as yours has!

Bath fitter is called a mold sandwich by tile guys.
@wilcoxtactical37164 ай бұрын
Of course they are. Tilers are pissed they no longer are needed to get a good looking shower or tub install.

That's rich, coming from "tile guys!" I see much more mold in tiled showers - in the plentiful grout lines.

Bath Fitters warranty will cover mold issues if they happen, find me any tiler who can offer that! Grout is so porous, everything can go and grow through it

Yes. I was quoted $13000 by this company to do just the shower. No flooring, no vanity, no toilet .. just the shower with minimum features and a basic glass door. These folks are the biggest scammers in the industry

I mentioned it in video. This was two years ago and I believe the tub wall with fixtures was around $5000. I could be wrong though but I remember it being around that give or take a grand or so
