The drill bits are spot on . I’ve been using them for over twelve months now . And you do get the odd dodgy one that burns out on the first hole , but you can usually drill at least half a dozen holes before the drill bit is knackered . I used to buy the £15 drill bits that would only last for ten holes or so , not anymore thanks to your recommendation . Cheers Mark 👍

Hi Mark, yes I remember this series, with a good few conundrums along the way. Good to see the footage again and remember the hard work that went into the finished product. My go to, do everything wood chisel is about 25 years old now and still going strong, maybe a bit shorter now 😂. Have a great week and take care, regards Chris. 👍👍👍

Well thanks Mark for the full feature movie, very enjoyable. That pipework was a real mess, it annoys me when I see stuff like that. I was wondering when you were going to open that door where the cylinder was. Great bit of tiling and a brilliant job on your part. Take care buddy 😁👍

Great work and well explained as always. Just a question, how come you could drill into the floor for the toilet? Does this not reach the underfloor heating?

The UFH was not put in that area… it was planned out to allow for the toilet

Its literally feels like an instant win when the tiles literally fall off the wall!!!. Conversely it's a nightmare when you cant get them off and end up having to take the boards with them. Its one of those starts that feels like a flip of a coin as to whether the tiles come off or not!!!🤣🤣

Did you tank the bath area?
@MJTiffPlumbingАй бұрын
The tiler did yes
@pbarnfieldАй бұрын
Feel you with the bath saga. Just fitted ours (also using same brilliant waste kit) and noticed afterwards that the edge is all wavy and out of line. Can be hidden I think with some upvc trim but didn't notice it till the side panel was on... Also during tiling I dopped a tile and chipped the f*ckin bath, so bought a repair kit to fix that!! Ruddy nightmare. The plumbing bit I enjoy but not the tiling!! Got a 25% refund on the bath so all isn't too bad. Couldn've had replacement, but not an option when fixed in well with BT1 and tiling done. Sod that!!! 🤣 Real world problems indeed. Bonus being DIY is I can work around it and tell wife to live with it 😛

Thanks mate…. We’ve all been there buddy

Someone asked if you tanked around bath...Why do we tank?... been doing bathrooms nearly 20 years and never tank unless tiled shower floor area...imo if water gets to the tanking the jobs knackered anyway....I naturally felt your pain when you opened that wall up lol
@MJTiffPlumbingАй бұрын
Great question…. I have in the past years done a shower area without tanking it and it’s been fine, it’s all down to a good tiler imho. However now for the sake of a hundred quid or so it’s worth tanking a wet area….
@LeonRialАй бұрын
This is where you make me jealous, I Tile them myself...I've never had the confidence to let tilers do work in my name...the well known good tilers in my area are hard to get hold of...ie booked months infront....my knees will dicate the decision soon lol...if I can offer a suggestion without wanting to preach or offend...if the bath is short on wall ie 1700 bath on 1800 wall I always make a little raised end which comes out slightly wider than bath and tile it....i have learnt bits off you....madly enough something as easy as putting tubs in bath before ripping tiles off lol

why do English plumbers never chase the bath or shower tray into the walls, as a plumber in NI we would never finish a bath or shower without it being chased into the wall, t5hen add add expanding tape tot the appliance that goes between the bath then under the tiles to provide a waterproof seal.
@MJTiffPlumbingАй бұрын
I would never do that….. over here that’s scene as a bit of a bodge…. Crazy how different the same trade can be
