Bathroom Renovation Update + Piglets get a new outdoor area on the homestead!

We finish up the next step in the bathroom + enjoy the spring air by spending the rest of the day outside working on a new gate and fence section for the bigs to have a bigger play area! The next fence sections will be the other side of the pig paddock and the horse fencing slats up!

The paintings themselves are great in the room. Like a couple of others said, a larger frame with a white mat will really make them stand out. It’s a big bathroom so something more substantial will fit in so nicely. I’m so loving the green! Can’t wait to see the vanity, sink and mirror come together. Sucks about the paint in the shower, but you will triumph over it as always. Look forward to progress indoors and out. Pigs are living their best life! You’ll be glad to see the end of the snow and continue the transformation!

When you patch walls you should prime with PVC primer to seal it before you paint. If it's not primed it will always absorb the paint differently and always show imperfections!

Rather than sticky tape on the bottom of the paintings (having them follow the slope of the wall seems bit odd) you might consider two, shallow, floating shelves. Bottom one just a tad deeper than the upper to have front edges align. Then stand the pictures, leaning slightly backwards, how non-hanging artwork is commonly displayed. Just a thought.

That is exactly the right way to paint walls. Put a coat of paint on so you can see exactly what needs more filling etc. I've seen that recommendation so many times from people doing renovations.

Elysia you should really prime the sanded parts before the paint. I know it's paint and primer but it needs to be sealed. Also prime any of spots that you used the goo be gone. You'll see a huge difference I swear! Especially when you have a bit of sheen to the finish of new paint. It will dry flat on any patches. Love how great it's looking!

Spackling after paint is Ok, I’ve done it many times myself! With the newer paints with primers in them it’s perfectly fine to do it that way!

For all of our prints and canvas prints we use the velcro command hooks and they work so well. They would be perfect for these paintings! The bathroom looks amazing. We are going to use the marine paint for a couple of projects we have in our trailer! Thank you!

With the frames for pictures you could re frame them with bigger frames and put some mat paper to fill in frames, pictures are great. Just need to be a bit bigger and with your skills, maybe make bulky wood frames to make it look more rustic?? You are all doing an amazing job ❤

I think the pictures need a wider frame… The frames just look almost invisible. I would definitely fix them to where they will hang properly. It will drive you nuts if you don’t, since it’s already bothering you! I would be picky about the puttying and sanding, too… you’ll be happier with the finished room if you take the time to smooth everything as good as you possibly can. It’s going to look great when you’re done!

Love it! Definitely keep the bench and I would do towel hooks above. Like both pics in the position you have them. I prefer matting around my pics as I think they look more finished.
