Thanks for your great channel which gives some very welcome (and fairly rare) humorous intelligent commentary on literature. I bought the Collected Stories by Trevor which is over 1000 pages and I am absolutely entranced by them so I do disagree with you a bit on the value of the big collection but when I finish them I will definitely get more by him. As the Collected Stories are arranged chronologically the change of style through the years is highlighted very well. "The General's Day" is a really melancholic story by the end but begins almost comically which is a real work of art.

I am a big fan of William Trevor. I wish there were more of his books available at the libraries.
