On this occasion Jason Plato was yet again limping around the circuit. Unfortunately fellow BTCC driver John Cleland collided with him at and it ended with John rolling and Jason's race finishing up in the gravel.

Funny thing is I was listening to Greg Rusts podcast with John Cleland and they spoke about this incident. When John went back to the BJR pit, he walked up to Kim and said “I’m sorry but just about everything on the car is fucked, except for the window, but I had to kick that out and now that’s fucked too!” 😂

Looks like a pretty unfortunate racing incident really, Cleland was behind several other cars and wouldn't have seen Plato until it was too late. Still though, pretty hilarious to see Cleland just booting the glass out in anger :D

the #51 was lucky not to be hit as well

Plato probably should have been more to the left side of the track (off the racing line). Having said that, his car was obviously heavily damaged at the right front so perhaps Plato's ability to steer the car was hampered. Either way, it was a shame to see two fine British drivers out of the race so early.

Only yellow and blue being waved. Had the marshall already dropped the white and raised the yellow?

Yeah blue flags not helpful there; they tend to be taken by the faster cars as an indication that the car ahead might be responding to the blue and letting them through. If there was a yellow then it depends when it was shown and whether Cleland had a chance to react to it. Presumably he wouldn't have tried to go around the other cars if he'd seen a yellow flag.
