There’s a B:TAS vibe absent in subsequent titles that this game encapsulates very well. The banter between Batman and his villains (namely Joker, of course), Batman’s stoicism in the face of the unknown, even Conroy’s delivery of his lines very much resemble the Batman from the series (“Joker is running free… but not for long”) The linearity and claustrophobic nature of this game allows for a more intimate focus on these details when compared to the larger scale of both the conflicts and settings of future Arkham games. This is peak Arkham Story telling, in my opinion.

In this particular case, I would guess that the reason that he is behaving so animalisticly is that not only the enormous rush of adrenaline and testosterone after a presumably long period of withdrawal and the assumption that the Venom that he got injected with during his Boss-fight wasn't clean but rather a combination of Venom and Titan to increase his strength and ferocity. Remember that Joker did mention that he was going to get stronger test-subjects earlier. I wouldn't put it past Joker to mess with Bane's Venom in order to get to Batman. And also, if you have played Arkham Origins (or at least seen it on KZbin) he does start out the same way as the comics, it was just that he suffered from severe memory-loss and presumably ther kinds of brain-damage when he injected himself with the TN-1 in order to defeat Batman.

When I first played this game, a while back as a child, when my grandpa bought me and my whole family, one of the PlayStation 3 games that it came with was Batman Arkham Asylum….And when I first played it for the very first time, I felt like-while playing the game-that they were trying to strive for a complete horror movie, dark, gritty atmosphere which terrified me as a child. But now replaying it as a twenty-one year old; I can still see why I was intimidated by it. Simply because the fact that Batman takes the Joker to the Arkham Asylum, and so far things seem to go well. Then, all the inmates are set lose and tend to jump-scare you, and the most terrifying (I hope you can all agree), is both the Scarecrow nightmare levels, and that particular snip-bit scene where Batman tries to enter Killer Croc’s layer when he is working his way through the catacombs. And after slightly budging on the door…Boom! Croc jumps out of nowhere and bashes on the window. And that one level, where you have to traverse through the series of tunnels in Killer Croc’s lair, collecting plant spores to create an antidote.

They evolve because of technology and learned experiences (similar to Assassins Creed or God of War), but I know my personal favourite is Arkham Knight. A lot of people will say Arkham City and people have their own opinions. Play them all because you won't lose out my friend. (I would play them in release order personally).
