This vide features the predator encounter against Mr. Freeze from Batman: Arkham City, recorded while playing on New game plus difficulty.
Now, on normal mode the boss fight against Mr. Freeze is considered by many to be one of the most entertaining of the game: stealth-based bosses are a rarity in videogames and the whole "Freeze will learn from his mistakes" strategic thing will make you feel extremely satisfied every time you'll get him. On New game plus, however, Mr. Freeze can and will handle your own ass to you every chance he'll get. Freeze is actually the only boss gaining new patterns on New game plus (the rest of the bosses aren't affected that much), providing a nasty difficulty spike. Here are the new tricks he'll deploy:
- First of all, now all your takedowns don't do as much damage to him as they did before: it's nearly halved. This basically means that, while on normal mode you had to pull off four or five attacks, now you'll have to manage TEN OR SO. Which are nearly ALL the takedowns available. Even if you got an expertise of some sort in the predator gameplay it's very easy to wonder aimlessly around the room at some point, desperately trying to figure out what's the last takedown you missed. Some of them require Freeze to be in a very precise position and/or aren't that obvious (I had my fair share of annoyance figuring out that not only you can use the line launcher to get the drop on Freeze from above, but you can also fire the gadget from behind him to execute a zipline kick takedown)
- Freeze now comes equipped with a detective vision jammer: stay in detective vision for more than five or ten seconds and it's disabled FOR THE REST OF THE FIGHT. This can catch you totally off guard and severely ruin your chances
- Freeze is generally more aggressive this time around, moving much faster (althought this allows you to bring him exactly where you want him to be in shorter order)
