How does the church skip exactly work? Like what happens that the game thinks you’ve escaped out through the window?

The game doesn't actually care about the window or scanning the sniper at all. The chapter advances when you go into the room leading up to the bell tower. We can get close enough to that room to advance the chapter from out of bounds

Why didn't you disarm the snipers before clayface with the batclaw as usual?

If you do Church Skip, you're never able to unlock the disarm upgrade.

Happens a lot in this game, actually. There's several upgrades that you can't buy until you hit a specific story trigger, so if you skip that story trigger then you can never buy it. That's also why we hack that panel in the subway before going to the trials, that lets us buy the Tightrope upgrade.

@@ShikenNuggets the one with the teeth i get it! I have a request if its possible. The Robert Pattinson suit from the batman was added to the game then removed. When or if it comes back can we see you do a run with it?
