​@medafan53 no, it makes perfect sense for any kid who lost their parents to be struggling in the foster system for a bit. The main difference here id say is that Dick was caught in a bad place that Bruce dug him out of. Jason lived much more of his life with nothing, no guiding hand, and often when batman tried to be that hand he would bite at it. This way the beginning of their journey as Robin has some sensible overlap, but the middle and end are entirely different. Its kinda like saying Deadpool and Wolverine have the exact same origin. Yeah if you only focus on the one aspect of their origin you could say that, but the context of their lives before and after change the story

Nice resolution to the Pinkney continuity problem. This fix actually retroactively fixes a continuity issue with Arkham City that was introduced by Origins. City stated that Penguin was the grandson of Henry Cobblepot… who Origins stated died in the 1850s, making that impossible. Nice to see things have been resolved.

Originally in the comics before it was retconned that Alfred raised bruce after his parents died, bruce stayed with his Uncle Phillip who had a house maid named Mrs.Chillton and bruce and her became friends. The MacGregor syndrome was also used multiple times in the Arrowverse. In *Arrow* season 2, William "Clock King" Tockman (played by the awesome Robert Knepper) also suffered from that illness. Then in *The Flash* season 2 , Francine West (mother of Iris & Wally West, and former wife of Joe West) passed away due to the syndrome. And then later on, as a direct callback to "Batman & Robin" , Nora Fries has it in the crossover "Elsewords" (in which she was played by Stephen Amell,'s wife, Cassandra Jean Amell; that crossover was awesome, I should rewatch it some day). Nora later shows up in that terrible *Batwoman* show, season 3, and name-drops the MacGregor syndrome again. But yeah, outside of that we don't get much about it, top of my head I can only think of the comic book *"Batman: White Knight"* (by Sean Murphy, who would create a whole Murphyverse/White Knight continuity with a bunch of titles for DC Black Label, and most of the ones I've read were pretty damn good) in which the syndrome was name-dropped.

This is another take, the circus incident still happened based on the story logs of Arkham origins and city The logical explanation is that the incident happened but Batman didnt immediately adopted Robin, instead he joined the rat cult like we see in this game and later was adopted by Bruce It just adds one gap of time and events in the classic story but still works

Bruce likely did it because Harvey went through enough, and he wasn't himself. Dent was already being put through too much with the rising Two-Face persona. Plus, Bruce and Harvey were cared for by Dr. Thompkins together and grew up as surrogate brothers. Bruce couldn't do that to Harvey especially since Dent gave so much to Gotham during that time

​​@@Enigma75614Harvey has a split personality called two-face that takes control of him in stressful situations like when Crane threw the acid on his face or during the long Halloween comics when he was working his ass off trying to put the falcone family behind bars. He also developed that personality because of his father, who had the same problem and was also pretty violent and beat him constantly for not "living to his expectations". Plus he actually helped a lot of people and did a lot of good things when he was Gotham's DA.

They definitely showcased Dick's maturity and open mindedness. Because it looks like he's already aware of Bruce's Other identity, and yet shows no animosity for striker's death.(They most likely already had that talk) He was probably already aware of how far gone his brother was and probably only joined the rats because he was pressured to.

Definitely an interesting take on the origin of Robin (Dick Grayson), most versions just have him be taken in by Bruce not long after his parents die at the circus but this version went through the foster system and is almost a legal adult before he meets Bruce.

If they ever were to do another full blown, fully open, big classic style Arkham game(not a VR one like this or a spin off), I'd want it set halfway between this game and Arkham Asylum. Basically at a sort of status quo point of normalcy, almost BTAS like. All the villains are established and known characters, none of the early series set up here, none of the set up for the later events(Strange is still just a regular doctor and hasn't started collaberating with Hatter, Joker hasn't discovered the Titan research and started planning his army of monsters, Arkham Asylum has been fully reopened, Batgirl is Batgirl, Grayson is still Robin, no Jason). I'd want it to be Open World, non-linear(Knight was trending in that direction), and have ALL of Gotham open to us. The 3 central islands from Knight, North and South Gotham/Old and New Gotham from Arkham City and Arkham Origins, Arkham Island, and the Gotham Mainland including Wayne Manor, The Urban Core, and the suburbs.

With regards to manpower, they can't make an open world that big and keep the level of detail on par with Knight or City. Sure, we'd get a bigger map, but we'd also get a less memorable one in the same stroke. Not to mention that they'd have to devise enough content to then fill that massive map, at which point the scale of the game would keep ballooning. For what it's worth though, I completely agree with the rest of your comment. An Arkham game set during the prime of the Batman mythos would be really fun to see.

@ I figure the fact the baseline already exists for them in Origins and Knight would make those a lot easier to get started, especially Knight as those assets might be good enough to use. So that wouldn't need concept art or base design or that. That would be half the map. Otherhalf would be the mainland

@ Asylum is sort of like that, the game on it's own is kind of book-ended, but in the broader context of the series it sets up a ton of stuff that destroys that normalcy(Joker discovers a few months later he's dying, Bane and Killer Croc are hurt and out for revenge, Scarecrow is mauled horrifically, Arkham Asylum is destroyed and closes down within a few months, not to mention Strange is already well underway his own scheme and has Quincy in his pocket). Not to mention stuff like Jason Todd only having been kidnapped and 'killed' a little bit ago(there's no Robin active circa Arkham Asylum) and Batgirl got shot around the same time and is new to being Oracle, and Joker started planning the Asylum scheme even before she got shot. I kind of want something before that that's actually set during that normalcy period Asylum takes us out of, the BTASy feeling stuff. After Origins and Shadow's setup era(though I will say, if they wanna do a nother VR game or shorter more contained game, do Year 1 before Origins), but before the Asylum or Pre-Asylum arcs start taking off. Hence I think Open World would be a good approach, this isn't set during a "once a year" level massive existential threat like the takeover of Arkham Asylum or Arkham City or Scarecrows thing, it's a lot of smaller and less massive events, like a game entirely made of side missions and dlc level adventures. Like a bunch of playable BTAS episodes. There's not massive city level existential threats, Robin is still Grayson, Barbara is a fresh Batgirl, most of the villains are established characters, none of the Arkham Asylum or City planning has begun, and there's no massive new stuff to introduce. We have the build up, we have the tear down, I wanna see the peak. And if you're doing something like that(A game in that format could be updated and sold for years, adding new missions, maybe moving the timeline forward a bit, there's a good bit of breathing room) you may as well invest in a big map, so clean up and modernize what we already have and then make some new stuff. Half the map is modernized stuff we've seen before, the other map is all original being the Gotham mainland,

I hope they do another Arkham Origins sequel so we can see Dick Grayson in his early days as Robin. But the sequel needs to be in PS5 console. I wanna play as Batman and Robin in story mode, just like the way players get to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in Spider-Man 2.
