Once again, the prequel games improve a side villain better than the mainline games. As Rocksteady (maybe even the higher ups of WB) wanted Joker for everything (eventually demoting to the Squad), we have two games that highlighted, expanded, and executed the lore of Bane and Harvey beyond my imagination. Sadly, since these ate prequel games, they had strong starts to sad ends, going from main to side without a proper send off. Lore wise, at least. But in real time, their send-offs were immaculate.

Going to be honest. Literally in the first conversation between Ryder and the first caller, I guessed that Harvey was going to be The Rat King. Not sure if it was because the conversation made it that obvious or I just did a good job reading between the lines about "split" sides and polarization and correlating that to how Harvey operates with his split identity disorder/dissociative identity disorder. This also connecting with Bruce balancing his life as billionaire playboy and caped crusader. Still a decent twist but they pulled another Arkham Knight, promising another "new character" which by name they did, but actuality it isn't. Also, thankful I got to see what the story was, much appreciated gameplay video.

Although the story is good, the whole Harvey Dent part is a big retcoon, in Arkham Knight it is said that the ones who burned his face were the Marones, and not the scarecrow, that doesn't even make sense, like Why did he join Scarecrow's group in Arkham Knight?

Hey, for me at 2:30:30 the gel does not detonate on pressing a, no matter what I do, reload, switch hands, A/X just keeps saying reloading and making empty clip sound. Anybody got that issue?

While playing I did come across a bunch of random bugs, it might be that. If you open the menu and select “restart from checkpoint” it will fix it. If not, then it’s not a bug and I would assume they want you to do something else before detonating the locks. In that case try and check your objective and see if you are missing something.

You have to go to the roof. There should be a way point if you open up your map. I did come across a handful of bugs while playing though but a “restore from last checkpoint” always fixed them. If you want to be sure it’s not a bug I would do that, usually it saves a checkpoint every few minutes so you won’t be super far back.

Two Face origin story in the Arkhamverse was always tied to The Long Halloween with the Holiday killing and Sal Moroni throwing acid at him in court; which means Arkham Shadow isn't canon to the Arkhamverse. Whoever wrote this game's story is trying to make this fanfiction a$$ plot part of the Arkham lore and it failed.

With the events of this game, they blamed the acid on Batman's alter ego, Matches Malone, who was speculated to be an accomplice of Falcone due to saving him and associating with him at Blackgate (while he was really undercover trying to locate the Rat King through Falcone). So, the media, Dent, and everyone assumed Falcone orchestrated it as revenge for being imprisoned. The interview tapes from Arkham City never said Falcone was the one on the stand at the courthouse or threw the solution at Dent, so this does indeed fit. Dent believes Falcone ordered Malone to attack him. With both the massive media speculation and losing half his face, Dent obviously was not thinking clearly.

I went through it usually fast since it’s a walkthrough plus I erased all the deaths, it probably took me 9-10 hours. Average play sessions are closer to 12-14. They have some free DLC’s planned too. Definitely worth the $50 in my opinion.

Alright, i understand what they were going for here. Having this be about two face. It harkens very much to “The Judge”. Harvey’s third personality in the Animated series. First things first though. This is cannon to Arkham Origins/Arkham Blackgate Batman, not the Asylum/City/Knight/SSKTJL Batman. The way I see it, and I feel like this game confirms it, is that the Arkham Batman follows similar events but their “timelines/continuities” are separate. I don’t hate the story, and in fact it may be the most personal Batman Arkham story we ever got. Also side note, there is NO reason this game had to be exclusively VR, this could EASILY be ported to console using a Arkham origins build from 2013 and it wouldn’t take more then, 6 months maybe? To render in game- cutscenes. Overall the story is probably slightly stronger than asylums, but only just because Bruce and Harvey had a really nice relationship in this game. Also this game needed at least 1 more boss fight.

@@DiddlePantsFTW I mean, it is and it isn’t. The Arkham Lore and character consistency has been off since they ditched Paul Dini all the way back in City. It’s Arkhamverse Two Face, who always followed Long Halloween lore in like I said “Asylum,City,Knight,SSKTJL” basically, Kevin Conroys Arkham Batman. This “Arkham Origins/Roger Craig’s Smiths Arkham Batman” is just a different handling of events and as such I think they’ve tried to tell as compelling of a narrative while still closely constraining themselves to the Arkham timeline we know. Because they can’t just announce they are splitting the timelines. Even though I think it’s so obvious and gives them a ton more creative freedom. The reveal itself is actually kinda great, way better than the Arkham Knights reveal. But the idea that he wants to break into Blackgate and give Joe Chill exactly what his best friend and Brother Bruce wants, (or what he thinks he wants) but can’t because he’s well, the DA, so his mind splinters and he starts this “Rat King” movement. But his day of wrath is just for one man, it’s for Bruce. Which I think is really touching. Now, is it done flawlessly? Absolutely not. There’s a bunch of diffrent ways it could’ve executed better but this was the story they wanted to tell, and you know what, I give them props. It’s certainly better then the Suicide Squad Story Line

The arkham franchise should’ve never been used for VR. Would’ve been better if the studio created its own IP for VR and kept Arkham for consoles. The team who made this game contradicted way too many things from the Arkham franchise. It’s not just little retcons here and there, but very obvious things that don’t match up. The game should’ve been called Batman Shadow Knight or something and be its own thing.

@@kwayneboy1524 maybe I just misunderstood how things went on, but first of all, Harvey Dent. Falcone is indirectly linked to his burning, but in Arkham Knight it really seemed like he was directly involved in it. Let’s say it’s a detail. How does Bruce never mention HE was accidentally responsible for that. Why does he just seem to not care about Two face at all. Crane also plays too big of a role in this game. He’s responsible for Harley Quinn’s descent into madness, but she never holds him accountable in the following games. Same for Two Face who got disfigured because of him. Joe Chill knows Batman’s identity and just lived with it ? Finally, and that only involves me I’ll admit it, but still not having a prominent Robin character is a big issue for me. Arkham Knight made Jason Todd the main villain and yet Robin is never important in any game. How is it that Dick Grayson is still not Robin in this universe but Barbara is already operating as Batman’s partner ? How far apart in age is she to Tim Drake then ? It only involves me, but I still think it should’ve been its own thing. I’m not saying it’s a bad story, it’s actually enjoyable to watch, minus the dumb reason Harvey lost memory (idk for the game, didn’t play it cause I don’t have the Metaquest though), but it just shouldn’t be in the Arkham Verse imo. Just the way the story is being the told is far away from the Arkham formula.

@@Holyfield19 i mean it kinda fixes a flaw knight added to the origin of two-face which was Falcone got to walk after the acid attack which wouldn't be possible because he would go to prison and not be released. So here having it be a thug(the Knight also called Falcone a thug but a change to it being an actual thug works good)explains how Falcone is released as he technically didn't hurt Harvey and they can't prove he tried to.
