Apparently, Batman from the Batman Arkham series is just a jerk who likes to beat up poor people for fun. He's a complete monster. This definitely isn't twisting the narrative, at all. #batman #batmanarkham #gaming

"Batman beats up the poor" His rogues literally have Millions, IF NOT BILLIONS, in their bank roll. Hell there was an episode in one of the animated cartoons Joker gets hit by the IRS and he just has money everywhere. Penguin sells on underground g*ns, Ras is CENTURIES OLD and has holding in everything and so on. Like I think you could get away with Clayface and Croc being "poor" and not only that but Wayne is heavily involved with charity and wanting to renovate the city so that crime goes down, it's not his fault that the politics of Gotham care more about Profit over People

A wholesome thing I love Batman is how he has one pouch on his belt dedicated to candy so he can calm down scared kids. Batman is a symbol of fear to criminals, but one of hope to the innocent he has sworn to protect. I feel like a lot of people dont understand that, and its why the ending of The Batman movie was so perfect to me. He stayed behing and helped the injured. He finally realizes that just beating people to oblivion wont do Gotham any favors. Thats Batman, and I really cant see him beating up poor people for the hell of it.

This is just one of those takes that probably started out as a joke because on a surface level that's what Batman fighting crime looks like and it makes for a good laugh, and then over the years you get those people who are like "yeah, that's a good point actually" and everyone else is like "wait, what? No dude, it's a freaking joke. What are you talking about?" But they don't listen and go off and form an entire thesis that gets parroted and spread around until it becomes an actual take.

People get so caught up with moral relativism, that they forget, or don't understand, why these characters are so endearing. They take the reductionist approach and entirely miss the point of heroism. Society needs paragons of human virtue, like Batman, as a compass to point them in the right direction. The character is meant as a symbol of hope and perseverance. Anybody who argues otherwise, doesn't know Batman.

Also a lot of the stories were clearly anti capitalist especially in the animated series . Several of the super-criminals like Mr. Freeze, claycface, and Two-face were literally created by corrupt businessmen who were the real big bads of the episode. Also let’s not forget the court of owls,Black glove and league of shadows organizations in the comics. In Gotham Bruce Wayne is the exception he’s the idealized moral billionaire in a city full of evil billionaires.

The only kind of people who have these kind of "opinions" are people who don't read Batman Comics or watch anything Batman related on TV/Movie medias and thus don't understand the character. And, frankly, this opinion isn't even opinion. "Batman is a fascist" is more like a rage induced hot take and click-bait because they don't understand the character and jealous and angry that there isn't more Batman stuff focusing on the politics they like. That's all this is. More and more you get media writers who are more interested in politics than the topic they're supposed to be writing about, and it's both disturbing and frankly wrong. these kind of people need to learn to stay out of pop-culture stuff and actually apply for jobs involving politics where they belong so they can push hot-button topics like this in forums more fitting for what they want.

He beats up criminals, who happen to be poor because Penguin and Two Face pay them poorly. So if they actually worked in society and stopped working for dickheads they'd be okay. But no, they choose to willingly stay poor and work for shitty people, inviting punches to the face. This isn't a math problem, it's not hard to understand. And Spiderman beats up the same level bad guys as Batman, except Spiderman isn't a billionaire. What exactly is the point they are trying to make. I guess it's okay to beat up poor people if you aren't a billionaire? And before you mention Lizard or Harry Osbourne, Spiderman beats up a lot of street thugs in the first 5 Spiderman movies.

When a character within the DC universe says it, like Jaime's dad (or whoever) in the Blue Beetle movie, it makes sense to an extent, because they probably don't know Bats and Bruce are the same person. Batman takes teenage pot dealers and funds them to go to college and get proper degrees in biology and agriculture ffs 😂

Lets be HONEST about this as Batman fans. Whether you like it or not in Frank Miller's "The Dark Returns" ,batman is a fascist. I am a huge batman fan but this interpretation of the character has its roots in the ideals of the fascist Ubermensch and of degeneracy. Its ridiculous to claim that frank miller's work isnt a political one otherwise i am sorry but you dont how to read .Dozens of refrencies within the comic both in the images themselves and how the story is written.Part 1 back in the day was critized for it and miller added a nazi lady to fight batman in the intro part 2 so he can say "no no batman fights a facist he isnt one see?'Even tho the message of the story and character promoted these ideals and way of viewing society! That being said i still enjoy dark knight returns its an amazing work and actually fun to read! But if we are talking about Kevin conroy's batman especially in the animated series i am sorry but most of the time the evil guy is a rich greedy capitalist Even in the arkham games Hugo strange's concept of arkham city could be seen as actually fighting against the fascist concept of how society should function. I think what many people dont understand is that it usually depends on the writing and who is writing the character

You asked for examples of Batman’s philanthropy and charity. In Batman the Animated Series he mentions a few times that he wants to preserve rainforests. Notably the episode where he meets Ra’s Al Ghul, at one point he interrupts Ra’s to say exactly that. In The Batman (the cartoon) Bruce is usually doing charity for the Children’s Hospital. It’s mentioned in the Firefly episode and Gearhead episode. It’s explained in The Dark Knight Rises that the profits of Wayne Enterprises fund an orphanage. In the New 52 Harper Row discovers Batman set up a hidden power grid or was siphoning power from Gotham to give power to the Narrows. Also it’s pretty much a given that any time you see Bruce Wayne at some social event, it’s about raising money for some cause. Sometimes it’s for a political candidate Bruce likes and will help clean up Gotham, but it could be anything. Also Bruce isn’t really enjoying his fortune. He plays the part of a billionaire playboy so no one will think he’s Batman. He’s not going out to fight crime with the mentality of nobility fighting dirty peasants. And not all of his enemies are poor. Penguin is often rich. The mob bosses he fights are rich.

If you are getting beat up your most likely destroying the city other than that he ties you up. If you are willing to throw hands with a Batman then you're most likely a hardened criminal, serial killer, or just plain stupid. Batman also has access to criminal files so he knows exactly what you did before he beats you.

Ras al ghul is rich, he literally owns a castle in most depictions. Joker has never struggled with money, Scarecrow was a successful psychiatrist, Mr zasz was rich before he went crazy. Man bat is similar to mr freeze, Penguin is old money, Off the top of my head the only actually poor character is catwoman, she grew up on the streets. Most of these characters were either born into wealth or had a high paying job, Even solomon bloody grundy was decently wealthy before dying (Not actually a batman villain) Also did the writers of the trailer ever think that rat king was using specific words to manipulate people? It tells a lot about the writer that they would hear that and not think about anything more than "Oh they said some words i liked, they must be trustworthy"

Regarding your comment about censorship, even if the subject of the art is an adult with a disorder/disease that makes them appear younger-unless the subject is a real person, although even that is questionable-there should still be censorship on the fictional. Especially now that AI is a thing, imagine someone making AI art of “grown women” with the body of a child. Why is it excusable if the “artist” declares the art to be an adult in a child’s body? That is the kind of excuse a p3d0 uses to blend in, like the whole MAP thing in the LGBT realm. Sometimes context doesn’t make it better, it just becomes an excuse by the “artists”.

How can people say he doesn't care about his villains who aren't actually evil when Batman is always criticized for always giving the rogues chances and not killing anybody?

Well compared to Batman/Bruce Wayne everyone is poor people. I don't see Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos donning a costume and defending us at night😂

@cole6843 Elon Musk couldn't keep a secret he's too full of himself to be secretive or humble. Bezo, now he could possibly be, but he's probably more of a Lex type he's already got the outfit.
