Batman by Paul Dini Omnibus Review!

I picked this one up, mainly because with the animated series, Paul Dini is one of the best writers for Batman in my opinion along with Doug Moench and Alan Grant both of which I think are severely underrated

Fantastic choice, this omnibus is chock full of so many good stories. I don’t know if I’ve read much of Alan Grant’s work on Batman, but definitely agree about Doug Moench. Loved his work on Moon Knight too!

Haha I just pronounce it the way I heard it in the animated series because that’s what I’m used to 😋 Apparently “Raysh” stems from Hebrew whereas “Raz” is closer to the Arabic pronunciation of the word, so technically neither is wrong. And I’m honoured to hear that you enjoy the reviews! I hope to provide many more 🙂

Excellent review! I picked this book up a while back but have yet to read it. I also have the BatMorrison omni set (which I have read and loved) so I don’t worry about getting too lost with the omitted issues, but I can see how some might be thrown by that. Incidentally, I think the Batman & Robin by Tomasi & Gleason omni had the same problem. There are just too damn many Bat-books! But still, I love that character.

It’s a good one, I hope you enjoy it when you read it! Luckily I also read Morrison Vol 1 before reading this, but just the idea behind only including half a storyline is wild to me. But yeah, too many Batbooks and yet not enough at the same time 🙂

The binding on DC omnis can sometimes be pretty stubborn and stiff! It may take a few stretches before the book opens up a bit more!

Which book should i read first paul dini omni or the hush hard cover

Batman Hush comes first chronologically, then the Paul Dini omni. If you’re only interested in the Hush stories and you don’t have either of those books yet, the Batman Hush Saga omnibus is also an option as it’s kind of a combination of those books

Thank you for the nice overview. The book looks cool, but I don't think I will buy this one. Morrison's volumes 2 and 3 however. The rise and fall of batmen is tempting as well. Do you know what's the next book you will overview? Do you have any picks from the omnis schedulled before the end of the year? I think I will be taking the Coates Black Panther and Venomnibus by Cates and Stegman. Hickman's Avengers seem to have been delayed to 2023 sadly.

Hey there! I have all 3 of the Morrison volumes myself, I definitely enjoyed those. Not sure which book will be featured next on the channel, that’s usually a very spur-of-the-moment decision for me 😋 Although, I am currently reading Hickman’s Fantastic Four Vol 1, so you can expect to see a review of that in the near future. As for which books I’m looking forward to this year, man that’s tough, there are so many 😄 But I think I’m most excited about Ultimate Spider-Man Vol 2 - that’s one of my favourite comic series of all time and I’ll be happy to finally have that material in omnibus format. Also excited to check out Nick Spencer’s ASM run, Cates’ Venomnibus, and potentially Priest’s Black Panther run! Thanks for watching!

@@SuperFlyComicsGuy Those are good picks, but there are so many omnis coming out it's hard to pick and not spend too much even if it's tempting. I understand you for Ultimate Spider-man, I think that was the first actual comic I read when I was younger, I am lucky that France has collected all of the main ultimate spider-man issues (besides ultimate six and ultimate team ups) in omni format. Hickman's FF is good from what I her, but I missed the reprints :/. Have you read Waid & Wieringo run on the four? I think I will buy it when they come out in France. Spencer's run on ASM is tempting, but I struggled with Ryan Ottley's art on the few issues I read from it. I didn't have that problem when reading Invincible, so I don't really know why it's not working for me. Same for his art on the Hulk by Cates.

Oh yeah, I forgot that France has those extra omnis for Ultimate Spider-Man. Lucky indeed! Hickman’s FF is actually my first FF book. I typically haven’t been interested in them, but the book has been quite good so far! Yeah art can be a tricky subject. But from what I’ve seen of it, it seems decent enough for me to give it a try.

Not really, I haven’t read much X-Men. Most of my X-Men knowledge comes from movies, shows, and games. Trying to keep my collection as focused as I can, so I don’t have space for the rabbit hole of X books right now 😋
