The purple-gloved Batman is what I think of when I picture Detective Comics #27, but I honestly prefer the blue version form McFarlane and that's the one I bought. That cape is glorious.

It's a little known fact that Kyle's grandpa used to have a regular segment in black and white movie theater news reels, reviewing the latest issues of Golden Age Batman, lead soldier miniatures and model trains. Or so I heard.

Overall, I prefer the purple version - though I wish it had the two-colour cape. The additional blue stripes on the Platinum edition kind of put me off. It's still on preorder over here in the UK - if mine turns out to be blue, that's okay, but I will be painting over the blue stripes on the boots and cowl.

Found the standard for the first time in the wild yesterday at my local Target. Then today, I find the Platinum version. What is their stocking procedure?!? lol And yes...bought them both because reasons haha

Finally picked this up. It's a great figure. I absolutely love the soft goods and bendy wire cape. Todd needs those on all capes.
