This movie also had songs by Seal and U2. Elliot Goldenthal’s soundtrack is powerful. Some bits were similar to his magnificence OST for Alien 3. When I was a kid this movie was one of the best growing up in 90s. I think both Joel Schumacher takes were him being colourful and some how also nostalgic to the cartoon humour of the Adam West Batman series.

My hottest take: I think this is the second best film of the original 4. Returns is 1 I love Batman 89 & will always find it iconic but it never felt like a film if that makes sense. More a collection of scenes (which makes sense because 89 was filmed during a writers strike). Returns is a much better looking & made film with a story and theme. I don’t know if Forever is better looking since Burton & Joel’s styles are so different but I do find myself going back to Forever more than 89 as I get older Obviously the overall ranking: 1. Returns 2. Forever 3. 89 4. & Robin
