That alone garnered a lot of antipathy, & the fact that this wasn't the (then-) beloved Rocksteady amplified that antipathy even more. I think it was a great game; I like it better than Arkham Knight myself.

It was designed to be a narrative, story-driven gameplay. So, that's the result you are going to get. Personally, I want to engage. I want to decide where you go, how you complete a task, when you stop to divert to somewhere else before continuing. I do not like watching a movie on rails where I'm just pressing one button to continue the game play. Otherwise I'd spend my money on a cinema ticket, wouldn't I? But having said that, if you don't have to worry about paying bills and rent/mortgage, rates, transport, putting food on the table, unexpected payments, services, life in general.. then yeah I suppose this is worth spending money on. As long as this sub-par game stock doesn't replace a real game.

Origins is ny favorite Arkham game. It showed Bruce being an awful Batman, but becoming a better Batman. Out of control, violent, careless and aggressive because he wasn't focused on making Gotham better, he was focused on his war on crime. It showed the raw power that Bruce has due to his training and workouts but later develops the discipline to keep it in check. Some ofmt favorite boss fights in this game

Another thing that translated well into these games, was the fact that all Batman villains and some heros talk about each other like they're all close coworkers and they all refer to each other by first names or in familiar terms. This might also apply to DC as a whole, but very noticeable particularly in the Batman sector of things.

Technically there is. It's known as Arkham Origins Blackgate. It's meant to take place a short time after the events of Origins because Bane has already been set up in Blackgate, and it introduces Catwoman into the mix. If I'm not mistaken there was talk of them making something to follow that, but they nipped that in the bud early on.
