Going into Killer Croc’s lair always used to creep me out by how quiet it was at first, and then out of nowhere he would pop out of the water and start chasing you. Playing this back then was scary man! And still kinda is to this day!

There's no way Batman's going through that cavern without alerting Croc. Probably, the most frightening part of this game. 7:14-see Croc reach for him, that was close 13:58-the computer generated scenery is amazing.

I’ve just played through Asylum for the first time, and holy shit this level was the scariest in the game by far for me. The fact that you don’t know where he is or where he’ll come from because of the water coupled with the amazing music made this a terrifying experience. The high strings after each of his attacks were straight out of Psycho, and it was almost like the game was saying ‘you avoided him this time… but he’ll be back…’ All this with Croc’s horrifying design make a level that is worse than any horror game. I also love the added touch of him trying to grab you from the water whenever you use your line launcher. A true masterpiece

When I played through asylum for the first time I played pretty much the whole way non-stop until this part it took me 12 days to rack up the nerve to do it and even then I had the volume off and used the vibration of my controller and the waves to find where croc was 5 years later I still get scared of this level just not to the extent of when I first played it

Still not sure I like Killer Croc's remastered appearance (just looks like a copy and paste of Arkham City Croc), but his lair looks cool, that's for sure. Scarecrow's remastered stuff is creepier than ever. I still wish the lighting was down for the remaster, but it's nice that Arkham Asylum, one of the defining games of millennial gaming, got a re-release along with its sequel.

When I was in eighth grade, I had nightmares about this part SO MANY TIMES because of how obsessed I was with the Arkham games back then. I can recall this one very well: for some reason, I was at a Justin Bieber concert (this is back when everyone in the world thought he was the bomb, and I loathed him, something fierce, which I still do), and I went backstage, where it immediately transitioned to being in Croc’s lair. I reached the entrance/exit and he immediately killed me. Haunted me ever since.
