Great playing Batman. You are also making more people realise what a great and innovative drummer Ringo is, and how it just would not have been the same Beatles magical sound without him.I wonder if Ringo himself ever comes on youtube and watches these, and sees you replicate his brilliant drum tracks !! ?!

Firsts one that nails the so difficult part ; minute 1:18 ; Ringo does what the song and singers needed to make it perfect but ; he really did so many hard fills ; and his tempo ; it’s perfect in timing

Good job, you captured the spirit of Ringo's drumming very well. I really dig how you played that bridge section. Clever in keeping the volume down of the song track, YT customs won't detect it.

Ringo was a tasty drummer, It is easy to imagine this song being played many different ways Ringo isms are unique for the time and still now.

I can watch that OVER and OVER! Because unless there's footage somewhere in a vault and other than Ringo shown performing it at "The Concert for George", there is none… bootleg or otherwise. So, it's great to see Ringo's AMAZING contribution to "Something" brought to life and done so masterfully. Thank you!

I just discovered you on you tube & you're absolutely amazing ! I'm not a drummer, but I love The Beatles & love to listen to note for note & beat for beat instrumentation of their music. You really capture another fascinating dimension of what Ringo applied to this super favorite Harrison classic of mine. Bravo amigo ! I gotta catch up of your other stuff now.......

Great to see a new one from you. I was so sad when they took down all your Beatle drum videos down. (here in U.S?) I enjoyed them so much. I assume they made you take them off because they had the Beatle music playing without permission. Hopefully the powers that be won't mind the way you did it with this one (Music much lower). Maybe you could repost those older ones with the the music lower, if that's possible. They were so well done and really gave great insight into just what a fantastic drummer Ringo was/is. One last question; I always assumed that tom work in the 'Something' bridge section was an overdub. Do you agree and did you just decide to incorporate it into one whole part? Keep up the great work!
@bryanciliberto7 жыл бұрын
Just saw your note about the bridge section (missed it first time around). What Ringo played on the bridge is quite cool and unexpected. It's the kind of the thing you just don't see drummers do these days, thinking about drumming from a compositional sense, It gives the bridge a urgency and a textural contrast from the very sparse verses.
@tommyhaynes5217 жыл бұрын
And Mac's bass part is very busy..and great... ....which wouldn't have worked if Ringo hadn't given him the space. In addition George's very melodic and somewhat sparse.(but genius) lead is also gives Mac the room do what he does...the bass part just kind of wraps around the lead

the bridge part is overdub you are trying to play both parts at the same time but it wasn't how it was recorded but you did pretty good 😉
@mpcvore6 жыл бұрын
I always thought that the bridge part was an overdub. Many drums parts in the Beatles' songs use the "drum overdubbing" in my opinion. Great drumming in this video anyway.
@tailnotale4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip.I'm sure he didn't know that was an overdub. Also he's not "trying" to play both parts he simply is playing both parts. And the cymbal crescendo overdubs. Nothing "pretty good" about it. He did great. Don't be afraid to give a fellow musician a pat on the back. Great job man, the whole thing was stellar. 👍✌️💛
