Prime 1 Studio created this work of art to take advantage of every opportunity to showcase this newest Batman and to shine a spotlight on how awesome this new design aesthetic is.
Prime 1 Studio’s artist team took the kernel of Jim Lee’s artwork and embellished it to push the realism and drama. Inspired by the film, our artists have pushed the boundaries of what’s possible to bring you an exciting take on the Caped Crusader.
You can easily see from his head alone, the leather-like texture, and intricate stitching on his cowl, and subtle facial features in the lower half of his face...these have been executed to perfection. His armor is both solid form and brutal function rolled into one. It gives him a menacing silhouette, and also the protection he needs to do his job effectively. You can see every stitch, every dent, every texture, every pouch, and every strap as if it were the real thing.
While he looks like a night creature devoid of color, our painters took great care in differentiating the multitude of armor pieces, cloth textures, and other aspects of the suit to portray that his costume is made up of numerous parts...and not just a solid block of darkness. We have employed many different finishes and painting techniques to bring out the stark realism of this piece. We wanted to showcase how Jim Lee’s drawing could inspire realism in a statue.

Usually I'm a big proponent of fabric capes, but I prefer the sculpted for this particular piece. Mostly because the sculpted is a great representation... it doesn't seem like it's causing unnecessary strain to the statue as a whole and it's not flared out to take up unnecessary display space. It's simple, does its job, and compliments the piece as a whole. So while you can't go wrong with either version, I personally lean towards sculpted for this wonderful statue!

99% of the time I prefer sculpted. I find them more organic. I personally think Fabric ultimately distracts. Its literally the only con I have for my P1 Knightquest Batman. Everything is so beautifully sculpted on him but that particular large cape almost looks like a curtain.

I have PO’d the Deluxe sculpted edition. If it was a standard leather cape I may have gone that way. Since seeing the issues people had with the fabric cape on the hush Superman coming out of the slot every time you try to adjust it, that has put me off posable capes.

This is a hit. I hope PATTINSON looks this good in the movie. I would love to see a STATUE of Batman's new RIVAL. The GHOST-MAKER. Have him standing next to his very own BATMOBILE called the GHOST-RACER. As shown in Batman #109. That would be so cool !

To me the appeal of this statue is actually the triangular look the sculpted cape gives. I do not like the look of that mixed media version. We like the same head switchout!

I hate posable capes. But hey that's my opinion. I am still debating if i should get this or not. I only have room for 1 1/3 Batman and i can't decide if this is the one. It is a movie piece, a comic book piece and i can see some video game influences in there. It's a whole package but i am not sure if it can pass the test of time. DAMN YOU LIMITED SPACE AND MONEY.

Sculpted cloaks will always be better than actual fabric but I don't recall ever seeing a cloak made from elephant hide, most bizarre. It will be a hit but It's a miss for me as It's a 'done to death' concept for Batman pieces and totally uninspiring! *Cloaks and capes are both sleeveless outer garments made with one piece of fabric. The main difference between cloak and cape is the size. A cloak falls below the knee, usually around calf length, or to the ground and protects the wearer from the weather. Capes are much shorter, ending at the waist or mid-thigh.*
