Immigration was great in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Immigrants came in to Canada and built our country. They worked hard and long hours, they bought homes, they had families. To being an immigrant back then you had to pass an interview in person and on paper, had all vaccinations, medical examination, and money to bring in to Canada. Not sure what there is today to become an immigrant of Canada but we should go back to the older way and bring in people to bring Canada back to what it used to be.

In the past 5 years I’ve went from having a respectable trade and middle class standard of living and I’ve went from no family doctor, lose of both parents suddenly, their 4 decade operating 3 small businesses being destroyed, personal life changing medical diagnosis, unable to get specialists appointments, denied disability benefits, my 27 year marriage been destroyed from the expense of fighting for benefits and declining health, unable to return to work, falsely accused of outrageous allegations in Supreme Court and years waiting for trial dates so I can defend myself and clear my name and restore my reputation, and had to hang my head in shame to apply for social service benefits. Add insult to injury, after 2 months waiting for approval I’m only receiving $489 on 1st and 15th of month. How in the world can anyone survive and have roof over their head for under $1000 a month?? Housing, travel to appointments, heat and lights, phone, food, vehicle insurance etc?? It’s better than nothing but I’ve worked 23 years until age 43 when officially accepted that I could no longer work. I even applied for MAID last month because of the pain and suffering I deal with on a daily basis and I don’t know how I can possibly survive over the winter. Thank you Trudeau for destroying my entire life with all your failed policies, programs, services and lack of care for Canadian citizens

I'm not anti immigration. I am the son of an immigrant father, but he assimilated from Jamaica into becoming a Canadian. What we don't need is 500,000 people to mess up our coffee orders at Tim's. My son works as a carpenter and has had to give up renting and move back home. He just can not afford it anymore. Rents 2000 a month for an apartment that would have been 500 before Trudeau. Correction: canada was built by settlers and pioneers. Immigration came from Pierre Trudeau. In fact: they keep this argument everywhere even in countries that arent " a nation of immigrants ". (Altho...its going to be tough with a birth rate under 1) Countries who followed that argument not only had slow gdp growth but had increase in negative data abd loss in gdp per capita. Population cant grow forever. Demand isnt limitless. There are a lot of fundamentals into it. The US works for many reasons and even that has limits.

Immigrants should be chosen by how they can improve the Country, not the Immigrants life. A country's job is to protect and improve the lives and cultures of its citizens, not those from other countries.
