As always excellent tutorials. Can I ask, what kind of safety setup do you have for the Batrium? Fuses? Shunt Trip breaker? Thanks
@AveRage_Joe5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! At the moment I dont have much other then a fuse on the positive wire sadly BUT I did just order a ABB 300amp shunt trip breaker. Almost went with 150amp but will be adding another 10kwh here soon. Plan to have a smoke detector hooked up once I find the right one. Thought about adding fans for cooling but dont think Ill need it.
@FretsNirvana5 жыл бұрын
@@AveRage_Joe Did you buy that ABB used ...which model? As I understand it not all of them have the trip coil in them is why I ask. Also, you have the expansion board with your Batrium right? I also have been made aware that you do not need that for a shunt trip breaker ...but it is better to have it.

Yeah got a used one and made sure it had the coil ebay.to/2Is1U8X Yeah I got the expansion board for possible future add-ons but you dont need it if your adding a few things.

Thanks for the downlow on the display screen. I'm thinking about getting a baitrium system. I need something! I plas to put my lithium bank in service soon. I don't want to. With out monitoring and some protection from imbalance. What is the power useage of the system. And monitoring? I am off grid. Every miliamp counts. When you are plugged in to the sun. I am working on a DC. Generator. To charge the bank. (Lead acid) I would like to have a way to charge the lithium bank when there is no sun also. The best option I found is to use a midnight classic with a pma or modified alternator. That is expensive! Since it doesent hurt the lithium to be discharged for a while . I'll just charge the lead acid Bank. And wait for sun to charge the liion bank. Great video. Thanks again for the discriptiption of the display! Keep it up señor Joe!

Thanks Man! Yeah theres tons of stuff you can do with BMS. Power usage is Tiny, cant remember off top of my head but its minimal. I think I show it in the install guide video I made linked below. Yeah a dc geny would be nice to have. What voltage are you using in your system?
@jamest.50016 жыл бұрын
AveRage Joe I have 24v of Mt105 golf cart batts. A 24v set of L16 batts. 450ah for the L-16's, and 200ah for the others. I'm going to get another set of the 6v Trojan T105 replacements. That way they will be close to the capacity of the L-16's. I have 7s liion bank. I also have a small 3s bank with 26650's lil over 20ah for now. The 7s is almost 80p! @ over 2600 mah each. I'm planning to build it to 100p. then put it in a pack . then start over build another up to 100p,7series. Build about 6 , 700 cell banks! I guess a longmon per 100 cells is about enough?? I was reading. You can put 250 longmons or cell monitors per pack monitor . that's crazy. The record is like 168 or so. That's a lot of long mons. For balancing. I think 100 cells , per longmon. Is on the verge of too many. If things aren't close. If packs are not matched, or cells per pack not matched. Mine are very close. I hope it stays balanced. But you never know until the electrons flow!!! Thanks SIR, JOE!
@AveRage_Joe6 жыл бұрын
Ok cool! Yeah My packs are what replaced my tojan 105's. I had 12 of them for a 12v system. I really wanted the L16's back in the day lol. You have quite the setup there it sounds like. For the longmons, I wanna say they have seen up to 800ah in a system but it took forever to balance out. I would think no more then 250ah on a longmon as long the packs are balanced well. Mine are balanced within 30 or 300mah (cant remember) but again thats using the chargers we use. You can re capacity check the same cell and get another number. When I look at the screen while charging I dont have a pack thats always in bypass mode so thats good. So I think there doing pretty good. You could technically add more longmons to a pack if needed. Another reason why I top balanced the packs vs bottom balance. Id rather them be in balance when full charged so packs dont try to over charge. And YES, you never know till the electrons flow!!!!😃👍

Very nice Joe. I do networking back in Jersey and here is a "Pro Tool Tip" for you. If you keep flexing that network wire and bending it over and over it will brake. Depending on what Cat wire it is. And i don't mean Hor-es. Wait how in the heck do you spell his name.... BOOM 💥💥💥 there it goes 😜

Joe would a batrium be a good solution to my non bms leaf cells? Ive ordered a 300 amp dally and a couple of the jkbms with 2 amp balance. I also ordered several of the little active balancers off amazon. This batrium stuff looks much better than the stuff ive ordered tho. What you think for the leaf cells? Ill put the jk on my lifepo4 battery but maybe send the dally back
@AveRage_Joe Жыл бұрын
Batrium is top notch stuff. I dont think its needed for a smaller battery. Jbd or JK would be fine. For sure send the daly back tho🤘
@matthewknight5641 Жыл бұрын
@@AveRage_Joe I really wish I hadn't ordered the dally. I'd ordered it kinda spur the moment but after seeing so many videos on how crappy it is I wish I'd just ordered more of the jk. Do you think I should put 1 bms per 8 cells? At the moment I've ordered 16 cells and 2 jkbms. Someone said I could have just used one jk and just parallel the 2 cells at a time and then did the series and gotten away with one bms. I thought it would be better to not parallel cells bit parallel the whole 8s battery with another 8s battery. What's your opinion with this? I figure I'd have a better chance of not burning up the bms if I used 2 bms for the 16 cells
@AveRage_Joe Жыл бұрын
Well it really comes down to how much power you want to draw. If 1 100amp bms or 2500watts is enough then do 1 bms. If your system can draw more then that, then do 2 batteries and 2 bms's.
@matthewknight5641 Жыл бұрын
@@AveRage_Joe I run 2 inverters at the moment that equal 7000 watts. They are hooked up to my leaf cells with no bms. Danger !!! I know.. but once I get my lifepo4 battery built the leaf cells will run the 4000 and lifepo4 run the 3000. Yep.. I gotta have a minimum of 2 of those bms I guess for my 3000 watt inverter then. Thanks for helping

Ive watched this a few times now. How is the balancing on the watchmon 4? Have you had any cell that it would not balance with it? I just bought 1 for some new A123 26650 cells. See what I found in my vids . I am finding the 100A china bms with 60mA balance is not burning enough power to let the low cells catch up. What are your thoughts?
@frankz11256 жыл бұрын
@ 16 min. The 2 pin connectors . Do they go to pos and neg?
@AveRage_Joe6 жыл бұрын
I think the balancing from wm4 is GREAT! I havent had any issues with it not balancing. Usually it will burn around 1.7amps or less but can go over 2amps if it needs to. Ill take a look at your vids to see what you got going on!

They are doing Awesome things, always upgrading and keeping up with the times! At first I thought the price was up there as well but after having it installed and using it for a little while, I am completely satisfied with the purchase. Plus, I have only scratched the surface with all the options you can do. There is no other bms that compares. Also Im not affiliated or anything like that, I just really like and believe in there system. After watching all the others failed attempts with the cheap bms's out there I wanted a good one since Im using all reclaimed cells . It keeps my mind at ease since Im not around to monitor the packs. Best babysitter Ive ever paid for!!!😉😉👍
