Funniest thing i ever heard was when i was an Battalion HQ an SGM told the CMDR "Sir, with all due respect, if you don't unass my office I'll hit you so hard I'll be retired and home 3 days before you wake the fuck up" Col Shaw walked out laughing so hard i thought he was going to pass out.

Being in AF isn't any better today. You tell your ADL just so they either ignore you or put a work order into CE that will take 5-6 months for them to get around too. All the while, everytime you tell your leadership, they'll simply just ask if you let your ADL know and if you put a work order in with CE and leave it at that.

1980s dining hall story: apparently there was an excess supply of veal in the US in the early 1980s, so the Army wound up buying a lot of it. And I mean A LOT of it. As in every mess hall had a stack of cases of breaded veal patties in their walk-in, and if you got to chow late and they'd run out of the main entrée for lunch or dinner, there was a 100% chance you'd be served a couple of breaded veal patties, possibly with some melted cheese on top. I couldn't eat veal again until the 90s.

That's not discipline, SGM, that's griefing. Just because your senior NCOs should have been dishonorably discharged for their actions doesn't mean you need to pass it down. Also, bleach to spray the mold and Britta filters for the brown water ARE you problem as you should be making sure your troops have the materials they need, not abuse them when they don't pay for those items out of their own pockets. We had a shitty Bn SGM in Germany and the Mustarnger Bn CO straightened him out; and the Officers who weren't doing their jobs.

Back in covid there was a shortage of food for whatever reason. We got one maybe two meals a day for two weeks and really should say "meal." More like a snack. Anyway I complained and nothing happened so I complained publicly and was threatened with demotion and loss of pay. Sure enough though two days after my more public complaints they started feeding us 3 meals a day. They were MREs but it was food. (By the way we were banned from going to the PX. The PX would bring a truck to the barracks once a week and we would have a small limit of junk food to buy.
