Battambang Cambodia Including Bamboo Train Tour
I want to thank Tony my tour guide for a fantastic day, as well as Arial and Dave from New York for the drone footage. It was wonderful to get a different perspective of the countryside.

♥️ awwww thank you so much Pennie. This was definitely a big highlight. I really loved it so much. The killing caves were awful 😢 I had to cut out all the tour guides explaining as it was horrific to hear. He went to the caves just after and was telling me what he saw. It makes me well up just thinking about it. The day was a good balance of history, fun and countryside. 🥰

Absolutely loved that, very interesting and informative. The bamboo train looked great fun, the rain didn't even stop the smile. Not sure about bbq rat, not my thing. Just wondering is there anything you would refuse to try? ( probably not )😅. Really appreciate these videos. Thanks....

@@martinhall2704 hahaha 😝 I can’t bring myself to have the eggs with baby chicks inside. I have been offered several times but I just can’t. Yes the train was fantastic and so thankful for the drone footage, you can really see so much of the countryside from up there.

It’s not Nan with a Backoack video without you being drenched in rain.🌧️ 😅. We used to play outside when it’s raining. Simpler times, the best times.

Loved the idea you were heading to the farming community......you talking about the troubles and wars with Khmer Rouge......made me think is there an actual country that hasn't had a war....UK was involved in numerous ones.....whether protecting home soil, or partners on the continent relating to the German invasions, then other times we sent our military, Falklands, Iraq 1 & 2. i think are the more recent........Khmer Rouge to me were on the levels of the Nazi's ......kinda think you were ill treated if you did not fit into there ideology.....this made me read up on them.......which then plunged me into a history lesson and who was supporting who.......that saddened me.....cos at the moment the world is in turmoil....and it seems that the same people/countries are stirring the pots.......anyways I detract......cos you then proceeded to eat RAT.....that was after the wobbly bridge across a river......waves to you, I am staying this side of the river...you can tell me how it was after.....ooops you did with the video......then you showed the killing caves.....shakes head.....why are people so brutal......then you saw the BATS......hugs thank you for sharing.....

It was a long day but one I wouldn’t change for the world. It was great to have a private tour and my guide was amazing. He went to the killing caves just after the war ended and he to me what he saw. It will hunt me forever, the things they did to their own people was unthinkable. The day was a good balance of history fun and countryside. X

Tell me about the beds. How do you deal with hard beds? I want to travel, but no way I can sleep on a hard bed.

lol it’s amazing what you will get used to!!!! 🙂 all the beds are firm where I stay. I’m sure if you are in nice hotels they will be softer.

Bat-tambang where the bats are hanging out from the caves is still a sleepy town comparing to SR. Cambodia has come a long way since the civil war was officially ended in 1998. My family was forced out of Phnom Penh City in 1975 by Communist Pol Pot to Pursat Province next to Battambang and most of them died there from starvation and exhaustion. Enjoy your trip. Peace from a genocide survivor ✌️

Thank you for sharing your story with me. Cambodias history during 1975-79 hit me so hard to think I was 7 -11 years old when it was happening. I have found Cambodian people to be the kindest, warmest most beautiful people I have met in 2 years of traveling. I am looking forward to spending some more time and hopefully making some new friends along the way. Much love to you and your family. 🥰
