Battery Drain Test

In this video You can see how to diagnose a battery drain on a BMW , this procedure can be used to all BMW MINI and RollsRoyce cars !
Measuring voltage drop across a fuse can show you if that circuit is loaded or not , for lower amperage consumption that the 400mA from this video the voltage drop will be lower and harder to read with a regular multimeter .
if all the fuses are not loaded that means the consumer is cause by a bigger circuit that is protected with the larger fuses or in other cases is something added on the car and connected directly to the battery avoiding the OE car installation.

This is the most constructive and easy way to diagnose a BMW with problems. the Dealer takes these steps: diagnose and charge battery, send you off with 200euro bill, the next time they replace the battery 350euro, after that they fault the Alternator, 1100euro, still no fix but a few bills further you wish they ever slow down and watch a real smart youtuber do all the gold work!

I tried on my f20 to do the multimeter drain test, but the amps went up and down, it was almost like i waked up the car since i made contact with the multimeter. Any suggestions what i can do ?

Pls help my f25 some ambient light are very very dim including all 4 doors ambient light. Also they stay on at all time thereby draining my battery. Do you think I have a short circuit or control module. Also I have error code 801c20 central gateway. Thank you.

Why don't you order just the chip from Mouser (or wherever) rather than change the whole module at the end of winter?

Thats great. but.. when car sleeps and wake up every 15minutes. (Sleep current is 11mA) then this method is not ideal for test.

i watched this video last night and it made me think when you were lead to the hvac controller, i was getting codes for my heater control valves and have been getting poor heater performance. i also happen to have an e60 so to me the evidence pointed to a faulty hvac controller. i skipped all the diagnosing you did in this video and went ahead and took apart my climate controller, sure enough same exact chip was burned up! i also know how to hunt down and diagnose other potential issues in the future after watching this video. this was very helpful! thank you!
