Very meticulous examination...so many you tubers have been complaining but nobody told us the reason . Got my XUV 700 L varient just a few days back and I was worried about the battery drain and also about its breaks. Can you share your breaking experience ?

Dear Akash ji, its really sad to know.. I suggest to get the suspension ccked at service center.. some friends reported it fixed by tightening some screws.. I also got that tightened. .. but issue is not completely gone... but 90% gone..

Thanks for this informative video. I'm not an expert but if you check out the fuse diagram in user manual you will see why certain fuses continue to receive power after ignition off. The fuses on the left which you expected to be off is an incorrect assumption. These fuses are mostly related to the PKE (passive keyless entry). PKE based fuses will always continue to receive power. I'm listing the fuses which you have tested and the reason they need to be on: F26 - Cluster display will always receive power for the immobiliser led, etc. F27 - Passive keyless entry - Always receive power otherwise PKE won't work. F28 - ODB - OBD will always have power. F29 - RLS - Rain light sensor but also used for follow me home. I believe this will be on for an extended period (more than 3 mins) before auto cut-off. Correct me if wrong. F33 - Electronic steering column lock - Always powered for security. F20 - Passive keyless/immobilizer and ignition control - This too will always require power. Now coming to the actual reason for battery drain. It is not caused due to any of the reasons related to some fuses always receiving power. The major cause of battery drain on standby is due to the connected car features, the primary culprit being the GSM module. GSM and GPS module consume the most amount of power. The only way to fix these as Mahindra has done is to implement deep sleep via software. Using accessories which draw continuous power like the dashcam you used before just add to the problem and sucks more battery. It's best to avoid such accessories on a car with GSM module.

Just for your information, this dashcam is not the culprit but yes NCS , this was the common excuse given by the service person. which is not suffice to convince. my question related to that is : how it was switching off earlier, was previously a bug or current one.. i see mobile gets getting charged even when nobody in car locked since hours.. also, there are many other vehicles which is using the same current dahcam BTW. including mine other 3 vehicles.. BMW, Fortuner, Manza.. 😊 BM gets switched off for 6months sometime... with no any issues.. all are connected car algorithms.. to make you satisfied extremely detailed power management analysis would be coming soon.. StayTuned! no excuse from any service / support would be sufficient, they need to optimize it..

​@@techno-drive I never said it's the sole culprit but such accessories add to the trouble if there is a pre-existing battery drain issue. The car definitely has a drain issue as even people without any accessories have faced a dead battery. I 100% agree that Mahindra will have to optimise on the energy saving front and I'm confident they will eventually solve this. As I said above, my bet is on the GSM/GPS module more than anything else, they will have to aggressively optimize it. The car has been out for just over 6 months now, real world issues like these don't always show up during internal testing. From what I see, they have been consistently putting out software updates, it's a positive sign. Thanks for the efforts and looking forward to the detailed power analysis video. 👍

You are absolutely right @Tanmay ji, I it happening due to GSM module only... but it is outsourced , so abit skeptical because it is product of other vendor... and their next gen is coming with different vendor so dont know what level of support to be continued.... Dear Akash ji, just an update that suspension Noise is fixed to some owners by fastening the suspension bolt... suggest you to check with service center once.... personally I did that earlier which has reduced Noise almost 90% but still I get on heavy bump and sudden breaking..

Thank you very much Sir ji! from my experience of more than year with this car, i suggest if you only drive in plains (city/ some highway journey.. max 3-4 occupants) then you should go with Hycross.. but if you love adventure and like to drive into hills or long highway drive... you should get SUV with high torque.. which would be more than required for 5-6 passengers even after 5 year aged vehicles... ideally performance decreases by time, makes the car a little sluggish specially with full load/luggage... in this sense higher the power & torque .. better is the car... Hope this will help you, if any open questions i would be more than happy to share.. we would upload detailed explanation upon Hycross soon.. stayTuned!!TC

Dear Sir, if you are getting automatic variant then just need to be careful, if you start once in a week for around 15-20 , I think that should be fine... adding external load would decrease the lifespan..

Otherwise, we could see stalling issue or car running slow (unable to speed up more than 15 km). I am experiencing this issue now. I am pretty sure that this problem occurs in all the AX7/AX7 Luxury variants.

Mahindra did not test those fuse ? I dont have specifications for those fuse, But its more likely due to modules in always on zone draining excess power. Like GSM module or keyless RF unit.

no no, initially it was fine, in some modules power should be available but in some it is an erratically behaving after update.. as power distribution is controlled by firmware, this can happen.. but fixable

@@nishankyadav7863 no sir adaptive cruise control , and it even comes with passive keyless entry ....which is one of the concern for battery drainage .....plus only Ax7l diesel variant have option of manual rest ax7l comes only with automatic hence increasing electricity consumption... @@motor_maniac Ax7 is also automatic and also has Adaptive cruise control. Also, cruise control runs when the car is running, so that does not drain your battery as there as has been no issue with any luxury variant running out of battery when car is running, it's when car has been left for 2-3 days or a week that the car runs out.
