Thanks for making this it was definitely very informative. My battery light comes on, but it’s very dim when it comes on I’m not sure exactly what that means other than a faulty component in my charging system, it’s probably something to do with the alternator, but I just replaced my alternator not even a year ago, I would hate to take it out of the car again.

Dude. the minute you said alternator I went to it and checked the connector and realized It was partially unhooked, I must’ve hit it enough to stay connected while changing plugs, coil and wires. During my test drive I guess it wasn’t making solid contact. All good now! Thanks!

ATENTION !!! If you have a DIESEL engine don't pull over and don't stop your engine ! You will manage to arive where you going because diesel engine still works if you don't have batery.

This is stopgap stuff he says... You may be on a highway 100 miles from home or near home and a good garage... it depends! A battery warning light can be from several things, so get it checked by a mechanic. An old car and an old alternator worn out is one cause. A battery to be replaced is another, but without testing you cannot be sure.. A serpentine belt may be very old and slipping and need replacing. Use common sense...

I had this light come on last night on my 2003 chevy cavalier, I did feel like the lights were a bit dimmer and I drove it about 1hours to my house luckily it made it. after I got to my house the ABS light also came on and would go away. The moment I turned off the car it wouldn't start, sounded like a dead battery so I feel like my alternator is just starting to crap out on me.

Dual battery is also a good idea use a boat battery switch that select batt1 batt2 both and off simple cheap and more reliable than a DCDC system or relay

5 minutes of driving on a fresh battery....I drove for hours when my alternator blew....it all just depends on when you are driving and how many times you start your vehicle....If you drive during the day and you stop down hill so you can do a rolling start...you can drive pretty far

Tonight 2017 Buick Enclave the “service battery charging system” indicator came on and the red battery light on the dash. I made it home 63 miles stopped and had it tested and it read 12.15V 40% charge

I have a aftermarket alternator on my 1999 Isuzu wizard and I just have to rev the engine up to around 5k rpm and the light goes off and I can drive for hundreds kilometres. Good video... Looks like I'll just have to get a larger alternator

If it's a Ford f-150 (or any Ford from 2000 up) you need to buy a OEM ALTERNATOR FROM FORD, New or refurbished or from the junk yard. You new ALTERNATOR is probably good & putting out 14+ amps & charging the battery, but for some reason these knock off refurbished or new aftermarket ALTERNATORS from China are missing a diode or something like that, & the Ford computer system can't get the correct information from the charging system. So the computer thinks something is wrong and it does its job 🤔 It puts the light on PS Some good news for people who owns Fords with the push button starting systems, there are KZbin videos that show you some neat tricks to turn off the battery light for good. (That is if everything is working properly on your charging system and the light is still on.) I'll try to put a link to the videos below. For mine the car starts up, the battery light comes on but if i rev the engine above like 1800rpm or above the light instantly goes away and comes back as it drops below that rpm, this happens whether in gear or not, i kept driving the car and it did not die... any ideas????

i have a Chrysler 200 2011 and the ground strap was disconnected idk if that could cause the battery light to come on i bought a new battery cause they told me that the battery was no good so i replaced so idk if its the alternator or ground strap wire

No, static discharge has nothing to do with battery condition. It most likely caused by by the high voltage ignition coil no grounded properly
