The manual says "The foot brake engages either regenerative braking or the friction brakes, depending on how hard you press the pedal. Light braking activates regenerative braking, whereas harder braking engages the friction brakes." so it is not true that there is no regen at all if you turn off one pedal drive.

Were you able to adjust cruise control by 1km/h? (Hold the button?) I wasn't clear on that.

Good video, very informative. How are the brakes compared to a normal gasoline car? From 110km/h to full stop, how many meters? By the way, on the Skoda cars I think the automatic set range to the car in front is adjustable, but the steps are like Standard 2,5 seconds (too close) or 3,5 seconds, (too far) because someone want to pass you and be in that space.

Not me. I don’t mind - and I love my EX 30 Ultra (single motor). Disagree with several things in this review, desperately searching for flaws. Car drives really great, has excellent features, looks cool and is a great choice for two people, without much use for the backseat.

With ID5 and 4 lines out of 5 in the ACC settings I have the same feeling that the car brakes a bit too late. My old Honda Civic 2018 was anticipating way better although the braking was not so progressive and linear like in the VW. Probably it has to do with the braking hardware. The Honda had a basic braking system with vacuum booster, while the VW has an electronic booster.

In both my ID3 and 4, I have ACC distance set to 2/5 on the Motorway or 3/5 in town. Also worth bearing in mind it gets closer in Eco mode as it slows down more gradually when the car in front slows. Obviously not relevant to Volvo.

That a comprehensive experience and review, thanks man, I'm starting to think this car is a prototype and the early birds buying are the beta testers (not that the other manufacturers are better), but for 40K this is unacceptable, a petrol car up to 30K is hassle free with more options, this is not convincing people to adopt the EV cars.

You need to be over 70% of charge to get that 3,6 sec 0 to 100, they clame. itt can be higher, i dont remember, i am not iterested in newer volvos, they have destroyed the brand.

My guess is this car would not be the bestseller for Volvo.

I had a deposit on one of these but after viewing it and driving it, I decided to cancel the order. My ID.3 was far more spacious inside, in particular the rear seats legroom. Extremely tight if you are 6 foot or more and carrying passengers at the back. The range also isn't great. I ended up getting the new refresh ID.4 and delighted with it. Also reading the experiences of current EX30 owners, I might have dodged a bullet 😂
