How fitting and poetic, the only two monsters that stand a chance against the many, many murderers of genocide routes. One is a hero able to physically rival in pure determination, and the other knows how to subvert expectations and use crafty gimmicks to make up for a lack of health and damage. But they both take the roles of being judges _and_ executioners.

It'd be nice to see a fangame centered around this. And no, not "OP Sans battle #2,147,203 with 69 phases", but something narratively driven like DustTale. After countless resets, Sans knows that his efforts to beat the human will simply be in vain once more, so he seeks Undyne's help in taking the human out before they destroy the world once more. Reminder that Sans' Karmic Retribution would have a much lesser effect on the human at this time, since the human hasn't reached an incredibly high LOVE at this point- It wouldn't be another Sans showcase, Undyne remains the star of the show, with Sans using his SOUL magic and bones to force the human into Undyne's far more damaging attacks. That'd be a cool concept, wouldn't it?

agreed, not to mention theres the potential for their combined survivability to be FAR higher. sans stand behind undyne, so you have to kill her to hit him, and have him block attacks for undyne (assuming she still cant block or dodge for herself) meaning that you first have to tire sans out so that you can even hit undyne, who you then have to kill to be able to hit sans. oh and when sans gets too tired to keep blocking, he rests to get his energy back, so if you dont kill undyne fast enough, sans will start blocking again. still makes undyne the star of the show in terms of direct combat, but also ensures that theyre both playing a vital role, sans keeping them both from getting hit, undyne shielding sans while he recovers . after all, undyne can take your hits head on, so it makes sense to ensure you have to attack her first, since itll maximise the amount of time you have to fight them both.

Then he starts throwing stuff at you, because the Gaster blasters ran out (this is late in) , so Undyne lends him one of her spears and he now throws it once every couple turns, halving the space you have to dodge Undyne’s attacks. +he just throws all sorts of stuff at you, from joy buzzers to empty ketchup bottle, maybe some old to do lists. All to help Undyne land the final blow .
