This game is criminally underrated. Overshadowed by Tekken and Soul Calibur, it’s still a competent 3D fighter with projectiles. Looks good still, even as a PS1 launch title. Great game, great play through!

I wasn't even _born_ until the year this came out... and I think I played a demo of either this one, 2, or 3 growing up as a 2000s kid. But my main titles were Tekken 2, Dead Or Alive and oddly enough, Digimon Rumble Arena.

I just bought Star Gladiator Episode 1, Soul Blade and Battle Arena Toshinden... Gladiator was a bit slow for me but Soul Blade was pretty cool. I haven't had a chance to play Battle Arena yet. All had the same feel though with the ring outs and the moves all appear to be the same between games just different input methods.

i hadn't played the game in close to 20 years but seeing this video i still remembered all the music and the misheard phrases, the best of which is gaia shouting "NUTS" when he wins. I mained Fo and it the AI really makes him look particularly awful.

BAT is essentially Street fighter + Soul Calibur and yea there is a shin shoryuken but its the Akuma shoto of the game called Sho that has it though :P
