Thanks for the suggestion. The original is played with a pick as well, in order to get a brighter, more cutting sound. Generally, I play without a pick, unless it gives me the specific tone I’m going for.

That is not good advice. First of all his muted pick technique is excellent and perfectly appropriate for the style of music. Second, it is impossible to play muted tic-tac bass without a pick. I have to play this song next month and will definitely use a pick… thanks for the video!!

@@thecompulsivemusician8889 The muting is necessary to reduce the attack from the pick. I don't need to do that when I play with my fingers.
