I’m pretty sure what you said about the grandmother having a direct influence on your DNA was inaccurate, because : The reason the mother’s state during pregnancy affects you is because of the hormones and general molecules (don’t know their names, but like Serotoin and such) that go through her veins, up until the womb, thus, affecting YOUR mental state. Never does the DNA get involved here, therefor the eggs are not influenced by the mother’s state during pregnancy. My studies aren’t in this field at all though, and this is just from my foggy knowledge, let me know if I made a mistake somewhere in my reasoning. (Also my English translation of my thoughts might be confusing, my apologies)

sorta yes and no, iirc teasing apart DNA when it comes to development is incredibly tricky since pretty much everything is an interaction of gene and environment, DNA doesn't do anything on its own it's just a blueprint that responds to what happens to you. hormone changes, physiology changes, nutrients, etc. all affect how those genes are going to be expressed in the fetus so being able to identify each X activity that creates Y change in DNA isn't gonna be easy at all i shit myself in line for two bathrooms at carnegie hall but it's true that your mom's eggs are developing while your grandma is pregnant, so anything that can influence that can potentially have a transgenerational effect. malnutrition during pregnancy -> altered development of eggs -> poorer health outcomes in grandchild is certainly a possibility tl;dr it's some epigenetics thing idk more details just interesting trivia

And,- by gene I mean a gene that predisposes someone to a particular disease. On a positive note did you know that a mothers breast milk is unique and tailored specially for her baby only.
