Theres only 2 things that bring down this game for me: no varients (the least frustrating issue for me) and the god damn branium basher 9001. They just made super brainz who is already EXTREMELY op in GW2, buffed him for BFN, then gave him an ability that doubles as flight AND one shot. The worst idea for an ability ive seen.

Honestly, since I haven't played it in a while, I think the only issue I have with the game is the upgrade part. unlocking upgrades seemed so strange to me in the original, and by removing variants, its like half a step towards less grinding (ignoring the dumb part of LITTERALLY REMOVING A FAVORITE MECHANIC)

I'm gonna honest here, I actually quite like the no variants. Getting rid of them gets rid of the element advantages and makes the shooters a bit more fair, plus the upgrades, especially the legendary ones are kind of just variants themselves. The new movement also makes battles a bit more intense, but besides all the nerdy stuff I said 🤓 great video man! Would love to see more bfn in the future! 😊👍

god i wish this game did better, it looks so nice and fun. the emphasis on movement as a whole looks really fun compared to how sluggish Garden Warfare felt in its movement. Alas, the lack of proper advertising, the rushed release AND the COVID-19 pandemic dug this games grave I feel. It came out as SUCH a bad time. If it came out a few years later and was advertised properly, I think it could've done a lot better.

Well mainly the reason why everyone hated it was the fact that it was released early, but the battle pass was free, and yes, they discontinued variants, but I realized that the game wasn’t bad, the game was decent at best, the designs for the characters are good (despite rose) and the fact that the game is more of a team based game is the reason why I play it to this day, it doesn’t have to be a class merged into another class to be good (meaning variants) it could be just one class and it’s good that way, and sure, I am upset at the fact they never added hovergoat and torchwood, but maybe in the future, when this game gets a better budget, they will maybe add them as dlc. I dunno

I like BFN solely for the lack of variants... Variants literally only made the game more braindead and everyone knew that. GW2 players favorite thing to do is calling out the braindead variants like E-Pea (unless you mained said braindead characters which is the main reason people were so mad about no variants)

I always found variants to be a soul crushing and monotonous addition, primarily because half of them are just the same character but with different colors and damage types. Upgrade systems like in BFN however, provide just the emergent gameplay I need in my life. I also liked running because it added an extra layer to encounters, and because it allowed you to exist in more than -5 places at a time.

@@madflam3192 Aside from z7 near all of them are the same character with a funny gun. They can make significant changes to how you play, but I don't find it a dealbreaker for them not to be there. I seriously do see the appeal of the difference in play with yeti chomper and cosmic brains, but I think BFN got a lot of shit for having a different artstyle and not having a bible's worth of characters. Variants made the game long, but that doesn't equal good for me.
