Soundtrack was really good, but it came at the absolute worst time possible. Not only did everyone have really high expectations because it was the first 3d game, but It was also right after gen 4 and 5, so people wanted it to be the hardest game yet. It also was at a time when genwunners were everywhere.

When I first heard this, I had to remind myself that I was playing a Pokémon game because it sounded so out of place, especially compared to previous generation battle themes. That being said, it’s damn good and keeps me bobbing my head with it even now. It’s one of my favorites across the many generations, even as a Gen 1’er myself.

This remains my FAVORITE Gym leader song. I’m just amazed it wasn’t an Elite 4 song instead, just from how hard this damn song is 😍😍😍. I wish this region would’ve been explored some more. It deserves it. Beautiful region with gorgeous Pokémon, and just as awesome character designs.

Ive been playing pokemon since it firsted released in america. I still love the series avidly to this day. and i have alot of sentimental attachment to the old ways. I remember the mindblow that The last gym leader of gen 1 was the leader of Team rocket. The Pain that Whitneys Miltank brought me, seing blue again after 2 years, the show down with my dad in gen 3, I can go on. THIS is my absolute favorite gym leader theme so far!

@@jamclone not the game, the song, but I have very faint memories of gen 6 so I can't really make an oppinon about it. Besides, saying X and Y is better than swsh is actually a pretty popular opinion. While swsh are not the best games in the series, and the only game worse in the main series is gen 1 in my opinion, I haven't played the first three gens, I started with Soul Silver, but I have seen how bad the og game boy games are, in fact, while the game has its faults, they at least TRIED to make an interesting story, and it has probably the BEST sound score, like I enjoy the XY gym leader theme more than the gen 8 gym leader theme, let's just say the champion made me she'd a tear and a sanity (I know a sanity is bad grammer but you get what I mean) it was hard, yet beutifal, like Cynthia, but with the best battle theme in pokemon!... Unless your Patterz, than it's the worst.

So Diamond and Pearl is actually next, and it is almost certain that it will happen. Fire red and leaf green were on the console two consoles after the original game, so were HeartGold and SoulSilver, as well as ORAS. So there will be a BW remake and maybe a BW2 Remake before XY remake. And if the schedule stays the same, it will be in about two consoles.

Fun fact, Focus only on the guitar at 0:57 all the way to 1:16 Then listen to 1:08 on Diantha's Champion theme. They're the exact same melody. The only difference being that Diantha's version replaces the guitar with bells and the melody being shorter. Everyone remembers this as the Gym Leader theme from XY, but I remember it being the Battle maison theme I chose to hear every single battle. I beat all facilities with this in mind, every time I was about to win or about to lose to some random bullshit in my 199th streak. This brings me goosebumps from a time that I wanted very much to beat this entire Maison. I bred things to test there, I read articles online, I obtained torphy after trophy, and even that one with the AI. This song encapsulates perfectly that feeling of being sure to win but not wanting to see the computer's next Pokémon, because you already saw that millions of time before and it always had that one Pokémon or moveset that puts you in a completely lose-lose scenario... Or in the better possibility, you need to rely on luck to beat this trainer... Ah, this song brings back those beautfiful memories of battles that only I experienced. Moments of despair and fear that I need to face with only my team at the time. A lot of times I wasn't enough, my team wasn't enough, but at the end I managed to get all trophies, buy all items and get the 2 special berries. What a awesome feeling being brought by this amazing song.

I still don't get why people say this theme sucks worse than swsh. Like, gen 8 is bland and linear and the scenic areas are just to look at, well xy is the same thing, it's better tho for it being on a 3ds, or inferior device, while swsh had PLENTY of opportunities, but just drove it downhill. And the music for gen 8. Oh! Don't get me started. It's just so ear bleeding especially with the chanting, like it ruins the theme and the different note changes are nice, but leave it hanging in a endless loop. When xy did the theme, sure it's anticlimactic and leaves you there with an endless loop that goes nowhere, it doesn't beat the fact that this theme is far more serperior (tkt) than swsh. The guitar solo is amazing because it builds up suspense which is eggcecuted perfectly and overall makes it a better theme.

Fun fact, this song is at around 150bpm, a baby's heartbeat is at 150bpm at 15 weeks. Listen to the drum in the back, that is how fast a baby's heart is pumping when is not even outside the womb. Regularly a healthy persons heart beat is at 80bpm

Ah man this is so nostalgic to me even though i never had a ds when i was a kid and didnt know how to emulate games, its beacause i played pokemon brick bronze non stop when i was a kid, and for some reason this theme is stuck inside my head, maybe because i had made so many alt accounts to be able to evolve my haunters but had to beat the first gym before my alt could trade. Well now, i still dont have a ds, but atleast i know how to emulate games, so ill finally be able to experience a real pokemon game!
