LIFE Magazine did a good-sized article in the Nov 28, 1960 issue about the special effects in this movie, especially the destruction of the Golden Date Bridge. I saw it in the summer of 1960 at a neighborhood theater in Palo Alto, and loved it.....of course, I was 7 or 8 years old.
