I like Nemona a lot as well, especially compared to other recent pokemon rivals but you can't deny some of her lines are gamefreak subtly hinting that she's a little bit of a stalker lol which I just personally think makes her more entertaining

​@@LeoDeer Stalkerish... no... I think she's just happy to finally have a true friend and someone who can keep up with, and eventually, surpass her. She's got some level of self awareness about it, and while she seems to be respected at the academy, she doesn't seem to have many friends. Her power as a champion, and her position as student council president combine to make her seem unapproachable, and during her school events, a trainer she challenges backs out of the battle after realizing who she is, saying "Why should I bother? You'd beat me easily." She wants to make connections, and likely sees battling as a way to do that, but her own skill makes people keep their distance. She's lonely, the only people who really interact with her as a normal person are the school faculty, the elite 4, and Geeta. She doesn't really have anyone in her age group like that, and then the player shows up, and she has someone she can tell, will not only be able to keep up with her, but also will treat her like a person, not a walking pair of titles. and in a weird way, at the end of the game, she's mellowed out a lot, because she doesn't just have the player anymore. She has Arven and Penny too, a group of trainers who are on her level, who she can go all out against and really form a bond with them, who can share her passion for all the various aspects of pokemon, instead of dumping them all on the player. I'm probably looking too far into it, but Nemona just wants someone to share her passion, and as the only one who seems to be able to keep up, she goes a bit overboard, and part of that I think is because she's never really had a true friend, even with her family, since they seem to be so focused on their work. Like any well written character, people tend to be able to see a bit of themselves in them, and in Nemona, I see my tendency to gush about a subject when I find someone who is just as into it as I am, often to the point of being a bit annoying.
