When/where do you here the first 12-13 seconds? I can't recall hearing it in-game/on other YT uploads, but I really like it, makes for a much more complete sounding intro

@@ShadowSneak. Aaaah that makes sense, cause the start of the track is almost always the overworld theme before it transistons into a battle. That's a shame, but also a rlly cool detail at the same time

@@optimisticcharizard602i just tested it out, and I don’t think it’s possible to hear it in game unfortunately. No matter how early you enter a battle after loading a save file, it seems like the battle theme will only begin playing from around 0:13. This is probably because the intro would otherwise be near to impossible to ever be heard. I guess for some reason the Northern Province battle theme’s music file still has an intro anyway (unlike the other three province battle themes which don’t), despite the intro not ever being heard.

@@leandermenezes7162 Ohh, that's a shame, maybe it was planned for them to all have one but the idea was canned after only composing an intro for the North. Makes me wonder what the others could've sounded like

@@optimisticcharizard602 Yeah this is actually a really interesting topic because like, With the South, West and East province themes, all the field themes begin with the same intro, and also feel kinda disjoint to the rest of the theme (ie there is a distinct split between the “intro” and “loop” sections of the themes). However when it comes to the Northern Province field themes, they all have their own unique intros (ie Piano for Walking, Harp for Casseroya Lake, Asian instruments for Area 2 etc). And in these cases the intro, although not part of the loop, flows seamlessly into the looped section of the theme. Interestingly, the northern province battle theme is also the only province battle theme to actually have an intro section, even if it’s never programmed to be heard in game. So yeah in short, the northern province themes have a different compositional structure to the south, west and east province themes.

best wild battle theme out of all the games you can’t change my mind but gen 5 is a close second even if the games suck
