Battle of Big Hole Commemoration

Every August, the Nez Perce people and others gather to remember and honor those who lost their lives during the Battle of Big Hole which occurred August 1877.
Everyone is invited to attend this free ceremony. Visitors can also learn more about the battle and the area's significance through exhibits at the Big Hole National Battlefield Visitor's Center, park ranger guided programs, and the self-guided walking tour on the interpretive trails throughout the battlefield.
