Thank you again James... again, I love your style and the PERSONAL touch of real people/soldiers, who they are and what happened where. In so doing you bring ALIVE the REALITY of the lives of every soldier who left this earth at the battle. The youth and innosence of the union Cpl. William Atkins and the young history of life for the confederate soldier as the only KNOWN soldier burried there. I loved your conclusion and honor to as yo u said, ordinary people serving at an extrordinary time of their lifes. Private Ingram's story i s touching. Very touching of your honooring end of this video. Again, thank you.

The forest cover really does play a role in the nature of the fighting.

I'm interested to know how you have quotations from unknown soldiers? How were these recorded is the soldier wasn't noted?
@ProjectPast15655 ай бұрын
They came from the book “Bushwhacking on a grand scale”. Some quotes didn’t list the names and simply just said..one Tennessee/union soldier said….

Thank you, much appreciated. I'll try to look that book up.

@davidjarkeld2333 it’s fantastic and the author is actually a park ranger at Chickamauga Battlefield. I ran into him on my last trip. Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate.

From what I have previously read General Cheathams first name was Benjamin. First time I have heard Frank.
@ProjectPast15654 ай бұрын
Benjamin was his first name. His middle name was Franklin and was sometimes referred to as “Frank”. Sorry if this caused confusion. I should have used his given name.
