Fun fact, Hill 493 is actually based on Hill 400 Bergstein (which I think translates into 'mountain-stone'). And more than just the valley, it overlooked all of Hurtgen Forest, thus a very strategic point to hold.

Als Kinder haben wir dort 1982 die Gebeine von Paul Peternell gefunden! (PFG 121 INF 8 Division Pennsylvania) Es gibt heute noch im Hürtgenwald ein Glasminenfeld das nicht geräumt wurde! I was with the Big Red One, the First Infantry Division. My brigade was based in Vilseck, Germany. We deployed to Baqubah, Iraq from February 2004 to February 2005. We were there for the Sadr Uprising, two battles for Baqubah (April '04, June '04), the Abu Ghraib scandal and the election. Both battles for Fallujah affected us as well, since the insurgents would get pushed out of one city and go make trouble in the next one. Baqubah is north of Baghdad, right in the Sunni Triangle. Things got pretty chaotic from time to time. When they say "No sacrifice too great", they aren't joking. A lot of BRO (Big Red One) dudes got really fucked up over there. I saw guys who lost limbs, part of their face and one dude who got about two-thirds of his head taken off. I was at the clinic on FOB Warhorse for a nasty toothache when a HMMWV pulled up and everyone got out, covered in blood and brains, carrying a dude with most of his head missing. About 5 minutes later, I see the medics carrying a bodybag out the back door. The rest of them were freaked the fuck out. They had hit an IED and it caught the gunner (there's a hatch on top of the truck for a machine gun, which he had been manning) at just the right angle and distance to decapitate him. Years later, I would deploy to FOB Warhorse again. They named the clinic after him. Ironically, it was there that I was first diagnosed with PTSD (it was my THIRD combat deployment, of course I have PTSD; it actually took the Army that long to figure it out). I proudly wear the BRO patch, along with my 10th Mountain and 25th ID patches. They're actually pins in my hat, but you get the idea. One more thing: Those BLM and Antifa idiots have no idea what sort of danger they're going to be in if they don't cool it. There are tens of thousands of people just like me who served in Iraq in a combat arms MOS (Infantry, Armor, Cavalry, Artillery Forward Observers, Special Operation, etc.) who could endure it all over again if we had to. Not only did we survive, we even thrived and made (and still make) jokes about it and many of us actually enjoyed it sometimes. We are the LAST people they want unleashed on them. A bunch of grunts with our own gear and our own ROE could squash their little rebellion in a matter of days. The vast majority of us are staying out of it because we know what'll happen if we get involved.

@@echo9932 I'd really like it if they make it from a different perspective. Like a whole Campaign for Germany and Japan this way we can see the battles from different sides. I played this level on veteran last month trying to get justice for our victims of 9/11 and I eventually got it after years of not! I kind of felt awful for calling Nazis terrorists but I felt they were. I felt better knowing the victims affected by that terrible day aren’t suffering anymore; I was literally watching the towers fall after playing my game and was literally screaming just the same way just like Daniels and knowing I couldn’t save them hurts me. Obviously I won’t compare the game to 9/11 but I knew it was finally time to get justice done
