There is a legend about what happened after the battle. After the battle of Marathon, a Greek messenger ran from Marathon to Athens, the distance was about 40 kilometers or 26.2 miles. When he arrived at the city, he delivered the news of the battle to the inhabitants of the city, then collapsed from exhaustion, That run is why the Olympics does a marathon, which also is usually the exact same distance run by the messenger.

Υπέροχος! Απίστευτος! The Battle of Marathon, in my historical analysis, must have been a "surprise" for the Spartans. The Spartans regarded the Athenians as philosophers and as "lovers of democracy", but not as warriors. After Miltiades' victory at Marathon, it became evident that Greece (Ελλάς) did not depend on the Spartans to win a conflict or a battle. The Battle of Marathon, in my historical analysis, marked the "starting point" of the Athenian hegemony. Nevertheless, in my historical analysis, Darius managed to achieve "50"% of his revenge against the two poleis that aided the Ionian Revolt: Athens and Eretria. Despite the Persian defeat at Marathon (which saved Athens), Eretria, on the other hand, was completely devastated and annihilated.

When the Spartans arrived on the field well after the battle, they were amazed at what the citizen-soldiers of Athens had achieved. They had not expected such a lopsided victory by the Athenians who they considered their inferiors at war.

Bro your videos are legit dope as fuck. Do you have to go into custom games and set it up and "play" the game? Or is there some kind of cinematic sandbox mode? I love the total war series of games and always thought doing something like this would be cool.

man, so nice! how do you edit the replay? do you capture each and replay again to capture another video angle and merge them into one video? Do you use adobe premier?
@NedimCanIncebay3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! :) Unfortunately replays doesn't work and I usually have to record these scenes again and again in a custom battle. I use Adobe, Sony Vegas and Camtasia for that. It depends.

This is how the movie 300 Rise Of An Empire should look like
@chinoschmino91085 жыл бұрын
Um no. That’s a movie based off of dramatic action. This is a video game. They’re incomparable and the combat isn’t even realistic in a video game. The movie, with its accepted flaws because you know it’s based off of a comic, is much a much more accurate retelling than that of Total War.
@malcomhertz51955 жыл бұрын
@@chinoschmino9108 well it's a no for you, yes for me. Being said the movie is flawed by it's dramatic approach, I must say I enjoy more the video game cinematic and gameplay than the movie. The movie right from the initial release was a complete disaster in my opinion, almost entirely ruining what the first 300 movie has accomplished.

Nicely done, but a couple of inaccuracies here. The Greek line had been thinned at the center while maintained on the flanks, so it could be stretched wider and when the Persians would push in on the center, the flanks were able to surround the Persians. Also, in a break from the usual slow forward movement of the hoplites, the Athenians ran towrads the Persian so they could close the range of Persian archers, and this took them by surprise. At the end, it is said only 120 Greeks died
@NedimCanIncebay4 жыл бұрын
Well you are right but that's what I did, the Athenians began to run the last 200 meters as you may see it in the video, I just don't have a proper ''running'' animation for it, maybe you just didn't see it. And at 2:33, you can see the Greek line you mentioned. :)

Actually in that battle the Greek side had a man power of 10000 And the Persia side had a man power of 80000-120000 After the end of the battle the Greeks had lost 192 men From the other hand Persian had lost about 6000 thousand soldiers also an unknown number of men died while they were trying to escape from the battlefield ( they were running into swamps were they were drowning) There's a legend that says that a Greek soldier called kynegiros was trying to stop a ship with his bare hands

@mazdas5 жыл бұрын
If you read the accounts of the battle closely you'll see that the Persian cavalry was not involved in the battle and that most of the Persian troops were already on board ships when the battle actually commenced. What probably happened is that the Greeks made their move while the Persians were in the process of boarding their ships and leaving. This after the Persians waited for days for the Greeks to come down from the high ground. And a large chunk of the "soldiers" at the battle would have been rowers for the ships. Most of the real soldiers would have already been on the boats.
