Thanks! Pluleeze do the CG powder vs Chantecaille!

Prayers are being answered. So glad I held off on the Sisely. I'm still curious for the primer aspect. But, I don't use primer often enough to justify that price 🖤

Really enjoyed this episode and have been wondering about both powders so it was nice to see the side-by-side comparisons and her your thoughts. I do like using loose powder like the hourglass but have also enjoyed the flower beauty pressed powder as a primer.

I have the Sisley and I have gone through three pans. I have maturing skin and use it on top of foundation exclusively. (They have all been gifts--I am a public school teacher--I can't afford it on my own.) Now, as I have aged the brush I use have changed. When I first started with the product, I used a kabuki brush and swirled and buffed, swirled and buffed. Now, I use a gigantic fluffy brush and lightly sweep. However, I find the end result is similar--a nice, blurred canvas that I can face the day with. So, there is another way to use it. :) Loved the video, Tom! Thank you!

I have that same Chantecaille powder, I totally love the weird packaging, and I crave a blur..but for some reason it's languishing in a drawer. Thanks for the reminder to give it some love. :)

I remember the lovely Mel Thompson always used the Sisley loose powder in irisée to blur and buff as a complexion finishing step. Her skin was flawless and blurred, mattified, but still had a radiant glow from within. While I do follow a number of luxury focused beauty channels, I don't recall anyone ever talking about this powder. Maybe the tech has changed since Mel's passing and there are powders out there that do it better. Or is that powder an overlooked hidden gem? I love to know if anyone has tried it and has thoughts to share...or Tom, if you are intrigued, would consider putting it to the test? ❤❤❤

Maybe in the future! I’m a bit powdered out right now, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that I try it in the future!

Thanks for sharing! I don't powder enough for a high-end blur to be worthwhile for me, but I love your detail and I still feel I learned something. I'm also absurdly tempted by the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter mini, probably just because of the packaging 😬

Let me break the spell for you! The CT powder packaging is absolutely cheap feeling and it gets beat up so easily! Lol

Tom I love your channel and this video was so helpful! I’ve got really large pores in my t-zone that I’ve always struggled with, and I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole researching blurring powders. Would you say the Chantecaille is more blurring/smoothing than the Charlotte Tilbury powder? And have you by chance tried the Westman Atelier pressed powder at all? Those three are at the top of my list of considered purchases at the moment. Leaning towards the Chantecaille though I’m a bit concerned about the color & yellow-ness - but it definitely seems like it’s the most smoothing, especially with how it can be buffed in. The finish of the WA powder looks super beautiful though so I’m torn!

So I tried the Westman Atelier powder and outside of the packaging I wasn't really wowed by it. You can see my thoughts in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYTTl3elrqx-n68si=yYj-SNHPs2OBu4PT So the Chantecaille powder is supposed to be used as a finishing powder, but if you were just looking for a regular powder I think the Charlotte Tilbury powder is better performing for that overall but the chantecaille is much more blurring.

I dont want to spoil anything in the series but im looking to do a huge haul for all blurring products. Since starting tretinoin, i no longer need much coverage for discoloration--just need to blur my pores. What would be your top picks for primers (multiple OK i love to layer primers), skin tint, concealer, powder?
@jessicag14319 ай бұрын
Blurring bronzer & blush would also be appreciated as i always drag those over my pores
@hautemesstom9 ай бұрын
Right now I’m only on the hunt for blurring powders but this could expand into other things! I think the only thing I have in my arsenal right now is the Sisley powder for a blurring primer.
@lizziejbarrett9 ай бұрын
I've used the Sisley for years every time I do proper mega make up (like 4 times a year) and I'm still not sure it's doing anything. Maybe I don't need much blurring? IDK
@hautemesstom9 ай бұрын
I think the effects of both are very slight! So idk that it’s going to be worth it to everyone to have these steps at all! I also would say if you’re looking at your face up close you’re going to see less of a blur than when you look at yourself in a mirror that’s a bit further away.

I love the Chantecaille Blur finishing powder. I think it blurs well. I’m about 1/2 way through my current compact (2 years into it, I think), but I’ve wondered if the Sisley should be the next I try. Now I wonder no longer! I’m sticking with my Chantecaille because I am combo oily and I need maximum blur. But now I’m going to try it alone with just a touch of concealer for no makeup, makeup days. Thank you for this video. It has been so incredibly helpful! (And delightful as always!) I am so excited to see what you think about the new CG foundation. I will be interested to see what you think about the powder, too! Yay!!
